    <title>Opie 1.2.5 development status</title>
    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.opie.devel/4284</link>
    <description>&lt;pre&gt;Hi all,

The Opie 1.2.5 cycle is now drawing to a close - most of the bugs on the
agenda have been fixed and a significant number of changes have taken place. For
reference, the 1.2.5 master bug:

  http://opie-bugs.softec.co.nz/view.php?id=1898

I've just moved the following bugs from the 1.2.5 master bug to the newly
created 1.2.6 one (0001934) since I think they can comfortably be left until
next time:

 * 0001897: Optionally disable built-in FTP server if syncing not in progress
 * 0001870: Add simple mime detector to libopieobex
 * 0000875: launcher polls

Status of the remaining bugs is as follows:

 * 0001910: Large time jump causes Datebook problems
To be finished by me; shouldn't be too tricky now that (I think) I have figured
out where the problem lies.

 * 0000774: Need some sort of feedback when going to suspend mode
I've done some work on this but it will mostly have to wait until next
release.

 * 0001922: OpieIRC crashes
Can't reproduce this anymore, although since it was intermittent in the first
place I want to test OpieIRC further on an actual device before marking it
resolved.

 * 0001931: Make SQLite backends the default for 1.2.5
To be done by me - fairly trivial.

 * 0001899: Finish Datebook2 rewrite
Largely finished. All that really remains other than testing is to replace
datebook1.

 * 0001878: Support syncing in SQL backend
Mostly done, but I'm waiting until the OpenSync plugin is fully working (and
therefore I can be sure that no more protocol changes are needed) before
marking this as resolved.

 * 0001829: irdaapplet causes qpe to crash when sending files
Honestly I have not looked into this, not sure if it is still an issue
although my gut says it probably is. It has to be some kind of race
condition. I really hope we don't have to postpone this one yet again - I
believe it was originally on the cards for 1.2.3!

 * 0001831: Default button combination to launch calibration
I think this ought to be done. Shouldn't be too hard - the only slightly
tricky thing is to come up with a way to register the appropriate key
combination for each device, since not all devices have the buttons discussed.

I'm open to fixing any other issues if there are any urgent ones to be fixed -
please let me know ASAP. In about two weeks I think we should freeze
development and begin testing. Thoughts?

Cheers,
Paul

    <link>http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.opie.devel/4280</link>
    <description>&lt;pre&gt;hello,

Is there a Mips based version of the Opie environment available for PDA's. i wish to convert my CE based PDA to linux and looking at the minimum specs it is possible, but the architecture is not in the list.
please let me know if it is possible, the only other version i have seen is the VR linux and i have not seen screenshots of this distro.

regards
