"Home" of reiser4?

<pre>Hello Edward, Glenn, Viji, Sandro and all other activists,

now, that the patches are gone from
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/edward/reiser4/,
is http://sourceforge.net/projects/reiser4/ now the "official" home
for further reiser4 development?

To which degree is this platform intended to be used {documentation,
discussions, versioned sources, bug tracking}?

Are older patchsets {eg. those still on
http://130.83.2.34/pub/linux/mirrors/misc/old/reiserfs/reiser4-for-2.6
and
http://ftp.sunet.se/pub/Linux/kernels/people/edward/reiser4/reiser4-for-2.6/}
intended to be kept on Sourceforge as well?

Any ideas about authorisation {who may write what}?

Best regards,

 Markus

Testing a custom kernel (2.6.39) with native reiser4 support

<pre>Hello my friends.

I made a new custom distro based on debian squeeze, but with 2.6.39
kernel, patched with reiser4
(http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/reiser4/reiser4-for-linux-2.6/reiser4-for-2.6.39-1.patch.gz?r=http%3A%2F%2Fsourceforge.net%2Fprojects%2Freiser4%2Ffiles%2Freiser4-for-linux-2.6%2F&amp;ts=1337035240&amp;use_mirror=ufpr).

Trying to copy a folder from a reiser3 partition to a reiser4
partition, I got error messages.

Testing my custom kernel with "preemption model" in "Preemptible
Kernel", I got these messages:

<pre>Kernel 3.0.31, but happens with other kernels as well: occasionally mounting or
unmounting a ReiserFS 3.6 file system generates the following oops. When it
happens, it's primarily during unmount, but I have seen it happen during mount

reiser4 bug with firefox on kernels 2.6.36 and 2.6.39

<pre>Hello

I am using R4+CC on linux2.6.39 and it started to repeatedly crash the
system when firefox is started.
Some parts of the system continue to work (it routs net traffic as I
use it as a bridge)
I fsck-ed the filesystem but even after fixing one small error (wrong
size) system still crashes when I start firefox.
Tried with older kernel 2.6.36 but it happens too.
System did not have any software update recently, only major thing I
remember is few months ago I switched from glibc-2.13 to 2.14
Partition is on kingston SSD and SMART did not report any errors.

If you need any more info please ask

Thanks

Dushan

Help please

<pre>Hello my friends.

I made some tests to get a custom debian distro with native reiser4
support, but I haven't success yet. :(

I made 3 videos (by XVidCap without sound) with these tests.

They're available in http://www.smartsolutionfactory.com.br/reiser4

May you see them and tell me what steps I've missed?

I was able to compile the kernel sources with the reiser4 patch
(2.6.32 kernel), and I installed the generated packages
(linux-headers-*** and linux-image-***).

After reboot the VM, no problem. But after it, I've tried to copy a
folder from a reiser3 partition to a reiser4 partition, and
unfortunally it has failed. :(

I need to know what I'm doing wrong.

Any help is wellcome.

Thanks in advance.

Question about the Reiser4 patch for kernel 2.6.38

<pre>Hello my friends. : D

Firstly, sorry for my bad English (I'm just a brazilian newbie).

Recently, I downloaded the 2.6.38 kernel sources, and I applied the
Reiser4 patch for this kernel version (for Ubuntu 11.04 - Natty).

But I saw that the file "page_cache.c" has the same change (Riffard's
patch) showed in page http://linuxhelp.150m.com/jews/saboteurs.htm

This left me worried. :(

May you (Reiser4 developers) tell me if I can compile and use the
kernel this way?

May you tell me if that page is showing "unwanted" changes in the
Reiser4 source code?

Thanks in advance.
