<pre>Hi,

I'd like to disable the "save as" menu item and keep that setting within an odt (not as a global application setting).

I can do this easily for the "save as" button in the TOOLBAR (I'm allowed to keep this setting within the .odt file).
However, I can't seem to do it for the MENU (I can remove the "save as" entry but it's at the global application level, not at document level).

Can this be done even if I were to hack the .odt file content?

Thanks,

Vieri

when you select text there is no blinking cursor at the end and also be able
to just Shift Click in the middle and make the selection smaller?

I am attaching an image as what happens. There is a blinking cursors at the
end of the text selection which I find confusing. Then I cannot for example
change the text selection by just Shift click. Shift and click drag first in
either direction? I am using LO v4 on Mac OS X Mountain Lion.

Noob here: Feature request for Impress

<pre>Hello,

My name is Matti Lammi. I have a feature request for
Impress. I'm have not participated in the development
of Libreoffice before and I don't know if this is the
right place to make feature requests so please excuse me
if it is not.

I would like to be able to record macros in Impress.
Currently it is possible in Writer and Calc but not with
Impress. Why? Is there something in Impress' source code
which makes implementing macro recording difficult or
have the developers simply regarded this feature as
unimportant and focussed on more important tasks?

I would like to have this feature implemented. Can you
tell how I can make it happen? I have only very basic
coding skills so I don't know if I can implement this
myself. Is there any developer out there who would be interested in implementing this feature?

Regards,

Matti Lammi

Error in Calc custom formats between closing and opening a file

<pre>Hi All,

I'm running LibreOffice Version 4.0.3.3 (Build ID:
0eaa50a932c8f2199a615e1eb30f7ac74279539) on Windows 7 64-bit. Files are
saved in native ods format.

I'm using a custom format code on a cell in Calc to get a value
displayed as a rate per hour.

This is the format code I want:

[$R-1C09] #,##0.00 " / hour";[$R-1C09]-#,##0.00 " / hour"

As it is, that code works fine. When I enter a value of 300, I can use
it in calculations, and it gets displayed as "R 300 / hour", just as I
want.

The problem comes in when I close the file. Even if all I do is enter
the correct formula as above, then save and close the file, when I
re-open the file, the field now displays as "R 300.00 / hoRr". When I
go to the cell format, I see the format code has changed to:

[$R-1C09] #,##0.00" / hRRr";[$R-1C09]-#,##0.00" / hoRr"

This happens every time I close the file. When I re-open it, the format
has changed. This is not caused by the save, because once edited, the
formula stays correct for the duration of the session, until I close
the file.

It's not just that "hour" has changed to "hRRr" and "hoRr", but the
space between the "0.00" and the quote has gone (in fact, the quote now
has two spaces after it, instead of the one before I closed the file).
This space is very important. If I edit the formula as it is, and just
change the "hRRr" to "hour", the format code is removed. On the
previous version of LibreOffice I had (not sure which version that was,
though, either 3.5 or 3.6 something), it would have no effect. After
editing the format code, the value would still be displayed wrong, and
going back to the cell format, I would see that the format code had
reverted back to the wrong code. Only if I put a space between the
"0.00" and quote would the code retain the "hour". Now, on this version
of LibreOffice, if I don't put a space between the "0.00" and the
quote, if I just change the "hRRr" and "hoRr" to "hour", the custom
format code is entirely removed, and the format reverts to a standard
number. If I correct the format, it stays until I close the file, and
then once I re-open it, it has reverted to the incorrect custom format
code.

I have had this issue in several files, and can re-create it by opening
a new file, putting "300" in the first cell, going to "Format | cells"
choosing currency and putting ' " / hour"' after both "0.00". This
shows correctly. Then I save the file, close it, and re-open it and it
has mangled the custom format code.

Can anybody else confirm that they are also having this problem? Does
anybody know anything about this problem? Should I submit a bug for
this problem, and if so, where? At https://bugs.freedesktop.org/ or at
https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/ ? I have tried searching both
the mailing list archive and the bugtracker for this problem, but
didn't turn up anything relevant.

<pre>Hi All

I have LO 3.6.5.2 on PCLOS 2013

Is it possible to do the following in Calc??

I have two list of names (and other data) side-by-side in a Spreadsheet
and I want to Split the Spreadsheet vertically to show the LH part on
the left and the RH part on the right.

This I can do but the two parts don't scroll vertically independently,
there is only ONE Scroll Bar.
So they remain in sync!! (What I need to do is scroll the RH part,
without the LH part moving to find a match in the two lists)

The Horizontal Split works like this with two Scroll Bars for each part.

Is there a way of doing this Vertically??

Thanks for any help

The file was saved in a Dropbox folder, I opened it yesterday, wrote a few

first, deleted it and replaced it with the right image. When I then tried
to save the document again did I get I/O error... and the file was
overwritten by a 4.1kb empty document, which i attach to this email.

My (unqualified) guess is that the problem might be related to inserting,
removing and then inserting picture and frame, or to saving in Dropbox.

Is the download problem just on my side?

Is there somewhere else I can download the font?

Bonus question: will LibreOffice 4.1 use harfbuzz and thus make Linux
Libertine G obsolete?

Subject: [libreoffice-users] DDE Links from calc to writer

Hello all,

I have created a document in writer that has DDE links to a spreadsheet
I created in calc. It has recently been acting funny, when I change a
value in the calc spreadsheet it used to change all the values in the
document in writer. Now, about 80% of the writer document responds to
the changes in calc but about 20% does not. Could this be due to having
too many links? I have about 3400 DDE links.

I'm using:
LibreOffice 3.5.4.2
Linux mint Cinnamon

I should also say that on a scale from 1-10 on computer knowledge I'm at
best a 5.

Thank you in advance,
-Mike

&lt;http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/file/n4061491/BetweenTwoNumbers.ods&gt;

In the uploaded file BetweenTwoNumbers.ods there are four sheets:

between 20-60, Num 1, Num 2, Num 3.

On the 'between 20-60' sheet there are three functions to determine how many
numbers can find on sheets Num 1, Num 2 and Num 3 respectivly ( one by one )
and there is a fourth function that sholud count that at once on all Num 1-3
sheets.

As one can see, none of these three functions works:
=COUNTIF('Num 1'.A1;AND('Num 1'.A1&gt;20;'Num 1'.A1&lt;60))
=COUNTIF('Num 2'.A3;AND('Num 2'.A3&gt;20;'Num 2'.A3&lt;60))
=COUNTIF('Num 3'.A5;AND('Num 3'.A5&gt;20;'Num 3'.A5&lt;60))

moreover, I don't know how to create fourth function.

Can one advice me how to go further?

macro not found when it's there

<pre>Hi,

I'm fighting LO (and OO) to get some basic stuff working and I think I found a bug.

I'm running a Java macro which in turn calls a Basic macro that was installed in the global "share" directory.
LO complains that the Java macro (which is being run correctly) is unable to find the following Basic macro:

library: 'HMAN_SaveDoc'
module: 'HMAN'
method: 'SaySomething'
location: 'share'

However, as you can see in the screenshots I'm attaching, that macro is available (I can run it manually).

Does anyone have any suggestions before I file a bug report?

Thanks,

Vieri

DDE Links from calc to writer

<pre>Hello all,

I have created a document in writer that has DDE links to a spreadsheet
I created in calc. It has recently been acting funny, when I change a
value in the calc spreadsheet it used to change all the values in the
document in writer. Now, about 80% of the writer document responds to
the changes in calc but about 20% does not. Could this be due to having
too many links? I have about 3400 DDE links.

I'm using:
LibreOffice 3.5.4.2
Linux mint Cinnamon

I should also say that on a scale from 1-10 on computer knowledge I'm at
best a 5.

Thank you in advance,
-Mike
