I'm trying to find all the ID's in a file that contain the character ^160

I tried : SELECT filename WITH < at >ID LIKE "...^160..."
But that didn't work.

Aside from writing a program to scan the file, is there a way from TCL?

EXECLINE = "SELECT FILE.NAME WITH < at >ID = \":KEYVALUE:"\"
DISPLAY EXECLINE
EXECUTE EXECLINE RTNLIST LIST1
EXECUTE 'SAVE-LIST SOME.LIST' PASSLIST LIST1

LIST.NAME = "GET-LIST SOME.LIST"
sellist = ''
EXECUTE LIST.NAME RTNLIST sellist CAPTURING junk

Here Im running a loop for a set of "KEYVALUE"s and for each run the
SSELECT statement is taking around 30 seconds. When I want to run 1000
loops, ideally the run time will be much.

Is there any easier way to do this with less time consumption.

Thanks & Regards,

I'm trying to use a Raspberry pi to push a button, but only want to use one GPIO port.
Basically, I'm trying to get the pi to turn a device on or off - and can't easily get to
Where the button on the device's board is at to have the pi trigger with a relay,
So I plan to mount the device, and have something just push the button directly.

Do they make a device that when energized, will push a rod out then back?
Right now, my only option (maybe not only), would be to create a Scotch Yoke
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scotch_yoke

But for space contraints, and ease, I'd rather put in something that would do
That as it's primary function.

I am trying to get Rocket to improve the behaviour of *HS.UPDFINFO to support active select lists so that only the files I want built into the ".hs_fileinfo" cache item (rather than have EVERY SINGLE F/Q-type item from the VOC included).

Support inform me that I seem to be the only person interested in such a change, so I thought I would at least ask the question of the U2 community.

Would anyone else find it useful to have the *HS.UPDFINFO command enhanced to support select lists, or have a new command created that deals with select lists?

Thanks

I have a flat file with tab delimited records and the file looks like below:

abcd 1234

I have to fetch the data 'abcd' and 'cdef' from this flat file and fetch

basic suggestions in doing that will be helpful.

You might be able to do something creative using the remote voc like someone said earlier. Have a look at the following paragraph. It's in the UV documentation in the admin.pdf.

Security Subroutines

VOC entries that point to remote items provide a mechanism for controlling access to certain commands. You can specify a user-supplied subroutine in field 4 of remote-type VOC entries. Such a subroutine sets a flag that permits or restricts access to the remote item. The UniVerse command processor checks the flag returned by the subroutine accessing the remote item. A security subroutine must be set up for seven arguments. SUBROUTINE security ( remote, sentence, level, port, acct, log, flag) security is the name of the subroutine. The first six arguments are passed to the subroutine by the command processor, and the last argument is a return argument. These arguments are briefly described in the following table.

<<For PCI compliance, we are tasked to log/capture all TCL entries and

responses. I am familiar with COMO, which is one possible solution.

1) What other TCL logging methods are available in UniVerse besides COMO?

2) What AIX Unix tools are available to capture keyboard input and responses

at TCL?>>

Hi,
I was wondering what tools you use to export data to an SQL data warehouse from UniVerse. This export could occur on multiple flavors of Unix.

What we would need to do is extract the UV data and perform some data "translations" before importing the data into the SQL table.

I know at one point DataStage was a powerful but expensive tool that would accomplish this task.

All suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Good afternoon,

I was wondering if anyone has seen "pc = FB8" WRITE FAILURE errors on universe.
I am running a module which updates the account numbers in G/L file.
The program does a readseq, removes, control characters, and attempts to write 10 digit G/L numbers into G/L file.
It runs properly in development and test accounts, however in production platform it fails on different account numbers and give "write failure" error msg.
I have added display command to display the account numbers as program runs..and the final run crashed with the WRITE FAILURE pc FB8 error.

Any idea/comments will be appreciated!

[U2] UD - Display Current Terminal Type

I've had a brain-freeze and can't remember how to display the current
terminal type at ECL. I know it's SYSTEM(7) but what ECL command do I
need to display it?

TERM doesn't work (although I can set it by entering "TERM WYSE60").
PTERM doesn't work (it gives me all kinds of other things).

Any help would be appreciated.

Bill

[U2] Unidata and Replication from AIX

Hello,

I have a unidata database running on an IBM AIX... I want to do a live
replication, but to a CentOS server. Is that possible? I am running
version 7.2... does it require me to purchase another product? Or is this
feature built in to unidata similarly to to something like mysql. Can I
replicate to a the PE?

Thanks,

[U2] Unidata RESIZE CONCURRENT

I'm attempting some experiments with RESIZE CONCURRENT on Unidata 7.3.3
(RedHat) but failing miserably.

I didn't think there was any configuration I needed to enable before
using CONCURRENT, perhaps I'm misunderstanding the error message:

:RESIZE H08.FACULTY.WL.SNAP 3593,8 CONCURRENT RESTORE
H08.FACULTY.WL.SNAP is a synonym, real name is
H08.DATA/DATA_F/H08.FACULTY.WL.SNAP.
Resize Concurrent Continue/Restore failed because the RESIZE_CONCURRENT
bit was not set on the file.

I've read all the manuals and cannot find anything referencing the
"RESIZE_CONCURRENT bit". Any insight appreciated...
