double changed to float from older version of mdbtools

I apologize if this is not the correct place to ask about this.

I am converting my data to MySQL.

I was using mdbtools-0.6_pre2 but had some issues that 0.7~rc1 seemed to 
resolve, I was able to build it fine, but one of the problems I have come 
across is stopping me.

in the 0.6 version I have a database that mdb-schema reports the Quantity 
field as:
Quantity Double

where 0.7 reports it as
Quantity  Float

In 0.6 the value reported by mdb-export is correct, in this example 15.
in 0.7 the value is reported as 1.5000000000000000e+01

Is this a bug, or should I just be using 0.6 and working around it's 
limitations.

This didn't happen with the github head as of May 2010, but that was also on FreeBSD 8.2. I'm going to try re-compiling the old version again just to check what happens, but can anyone offer suggestions, or point out anything stupid I'm doing or not doing?

Attached are two very old patches that were hanging in Debian distro...

* treeviewmodel slightly improves the typing, so that less casts are necessary.

* filelocals reduce the scope of some local functions declaring them static.

These are small changes that I guess can go in. What do you think of these?

 In gmdb2/sql.c there are some incorrect uses of treeviews and models.
 Attached patch fixes or improves variable type definitions and adds and
 removes some typecasts as needed.

[patch] conditionnal documentation: SGML to HTML

doc/Makefile.am advertise that html/ and install.tgz are built if DOCBOOK_DSL is defined.
But this was not working. Attached is a patch to fix that.

I plan to commit it in a week, if there is no feed back.
Description: html file generation from sgml
 Build install.tgz documentation when DOCBOOK_DSL is defined, as advertised by
 the comments.
 Clean up unused html/dist/man targets
 new clean-local target to remove tmp & html files

Segmentation fault in 0.7_rc1

with the current version I get this error:

mdb-export encoding issue

I hope this is the place to post such a problem. And I also hope my
diagnosys is correct (that it's really is an encoding problem. I'm not
sure).

Well, I have a large mdb file, in which one of the fields contains strings like

0007-20101223-214033-שמות-בגדר_שם.mp3

or

0007-20110714-213442-יום_טוב_שני_של_גלויות.mp3

That is, part english, part numbers and part Hebrew (yes, that's
hebrew, in case you can't see it in your browser).

When I use mdb-export to extract data from this file, I get the
numbers correctly, but only them. The hebrew and english parts are
simply missing (even the '3' in the 'mp3' suffix). That is, when I
extract the latter example I get only

0007-20110714-213442

I'll add that other fields contain only hebrew (e.g.
 יום טוב שני של גלויות, יב' תמוז, תשע'א
in the example ebove), and they seem to be extracted correctly. That
is, I get some gibberish which I guess is the correct data, only my
terminal can't present it.

I though it might be an encoding problem, so I've played a bit with
MDB_ICONV, MDB_JET_CHARSET, MDB_JET3_CHARSET and MDB_JET4_CHARSET but
it showed no difference.
The file seems to be JET4 (so mdb-ver claims). I've no idea what
encoding does it use (I don't know how to find out. Any ideas?), but I
guess it's utf-8 (only a guess).

  I'll be grateful for any help!

04_odbcgetcol.diff fixes fill of pcbColName even when szColName is null. This was crashing my pyodbc tests.

05_odbctypes.diff is based on a patch by Mark Williams:
