even on their previous platform like mac/windows also. There also they
faced challenges and that leads them to search google/explore blogs/forums
and install various packages on their system to verify if that fullfilll
their need.

<description>&lt;pre&gt;IMO, It's very good to have many distros as each one was made because they
were needed and they have some advantages. As a user you can choose any one
of them and fulfill your purpose. It also shows the kind of freedom this
open source thing gives to it's users where you can develop something out
of something if you don't like it, and encourages others also for the same.
There are some minor disadvantages also that as a naive user you can't find
easily which distro can fulfill your purpose or which one should you start
with etc. But for this there are millions of blogs/posts out there where
you can read about your problems and solutions.

    <description>&lt;pre&gt;Dear All,

A lot of debate happened on our FB wall on the topic 'What are the
advantages &amp;amp; disadvantages of having multiple Linux Distros?'. Here is
the link
https://www.facebook.com/OpenSourceForU?ref=tn_tnmn#!/photo.php?fbid=10151620073774433&amp;amp;set=a.112258614432.84824.58079349432&amp;amp;type=1&amp;amp;theater.

We are planning to do a story on the same and we would really appreciate
if you let us know your thoughts on *'Is having too many Linux distros a

Bit coin is great romantic fantasy which does not deserve a happy marriage.
It is beautiful courtesan on whom you spent your computer time and wattage
to prove you were her one true lover. You buy her FPGAs and asics. You
throw graphic cards at her. You furiously discuss that one glimpse of her
with golden b shaped smile. But the affair is going to come to an ugly end.

On serious note, bit coin is being pointed at as solution to several
problems current currency system has. Firstly bit coin is deeply connected
to government backed currency because of exchange and current lack of goods
and services available in bit coin. It does provide safe haven for parking
mafia money which may end up putting a bad name for all transactions with
bit coin. It deeply depends on media portrayal of the currency. Right now
it is media darling which may not be the case even few months from now.

Early adopters should be rewarded, no doubt but not at the level of
creating asymmetry in the economy. Traditionally during issuance of
currency government should incur net loss by holding some amount of gold
equivalent. Not any more. Additionally more than even how much bitcoins
Satoshi holds, Who is Satoshi?

There was a bloom of exchanges which disappeared. In fact, if you search
enough, you will find code written by people doing arbitration between two
exchanges. Not anymore.

Afaik, MtGox is just a exchange, it doesn't have anything to do with
transactions or
mining bitcoins unless you need to convert bitcoins to/from other currency.

possible but unlikely. Most probably people will switch to other distro
like Mint.

The bitcoin protocol and clients are free and open, so how does it matter
who initially invented them?

This is a valid concern, however I don't think of it as that big of a
problem. Early adopters need to get rewarded, otherwise a new and
disruptive currency will never gain traction.

The reliance on MtGox is only a temporary concern, as new Exchanges are
bound to come up. If you don't like MtGox, don't use it. You definitely
don't need to use it unless you plan to day trade.

What other currencies do you think are more promising?

Can *buntu carry on if Canonical were to pull the plug and close shop today?
