I just launched a series of Facebook pages in anticipation of a sexy romance I'm writing while I continue try to pen the great American novel. These FB pages are interactive, a main page and then a connected page for each major character in the trilogy. There's a blog, twitter connection, all of that sort of thing. I'm trying to take full advantage of the internet because the book will be published mid November as an ebook.

So, my questions are:
1. Any advice on ebook publishing?
2. Any advice on reaching a larger online audience prior to the book's publish date?
3. Anything I should avoid?

I'm doing my own research of course, but I'd be a fool not to ask here, since I know some of you have e-published and all of you know a hell of a lot more about online networking and marketing than I do, I'm sure. So please, have at it. I'm eager to hear you thoughts.

I hope all of you and yours are very well!

Thanks,

File sharing seems to allow access to some items, but not others.
Can I just use chmod to recursively change permissions so that these files can be accessed by both users (there are only 2 on the computer and securioty is not an issue).
If so, what is the exact command from terminal.app please.

It will still update that new personal account and the administrated/biz page. But the new personal account will have no friends, so no one will see the redundancy.

Today I'm going to try to figure out how to import her existing website into WordPress. She's using Hostmonster, and they have some automated way of switching to Wordpress. But it seems to make her start from scratch. There has to be a better way, but I haven't even read the docs yet. Fun fun. Have a great day, and thank you, as always.

I have a dear friend (and then some) who has a Goole + account for business. She also has a personal FB account. And a business FB account. She uses her business FB account to manage 17 different FB pages.

What she wants to do: update Google + and have it automatically update only one of her FB business pages.

The problem: when she installs the plugin in the Chrome browser that automatically updates her FB page, mirroring what she updates on Google +, it updates ALL of her FB pages. This is bad.

She has a large clientelle on FB so she can't just migrate everything to Google +. although she would prefer to do that at some point. And she does not want to lose her 2000 subscribers on FB.

Is there a way that she can somehow divorce her one business page from all of her other FB pages? So that only that one page is updated when she updates Google +?

Additionally, she'd like to have updates mirrored on Tumblr and Pinterest when she&lt;/pre&gt;</description>

The closest thing to what you're asking for is Dreamweaver - it's Code and Design views are integrated, so, for example, if you select an image or a table in the Design view, and then switch to the Code view, your selection will show you the relevant code. Still, this is *not* a solution for every day updating of a site; no one works that way anymore.

I still think she (and you, if she's asking for advice) are going about this completely the wrong way. Like Lewis said - install Wordpress. Migrate her site. Never have her look at a line of code again if you're just updating content, adding/deleting pages, etc._______________________________________________

The single feature that she wants most is to be able to not just see the web page as she's creating it, like bbedit does. But if she sees a mistake in the preview of the page, she wants to be able to highlight the mistake in the preview image and be directed to the specific bit of code in her html.

Does bbedit or coda do that?

In essence you have templates, which define how your site's pages look, and you have content; when pages are viewed, the templates are merged with the relevant content to produce a page. Editing content in a CMS almost never involves coding at all - for instance, when a newspaper adds a new story to its site, or a blogger adds a new article to her blog, it's mainly about writing and editing content. A good CMS makes the process of maintaining a site entirely non-technical and, for most cases, involves no code.

Think mail merge, but instead of inserting addresses into an Avery template, you're inserting content into a Web page template.
