Yeah, it's been suggested many times - never seen it in the wild though.

If you want to use it, just define the datatype, it's not a Turtle feature per se - should work just as well in RDF/XML or whatever.

The Semantic Web Science Association (SWSA) [1] is seeking statements of interest from organizations or consortia interested in hosting the 14th International Semantic Web Conference, ISWC 2015.

The conference series usually moves regularly between the Americas, Europe, and the Asia/Pacific region. For the 2015 edition, we will accept bids from all locations, but we will give preference to the bids from the Americas. We expect the conference to take place in late October or early November 2015.

Organizations wishing to host ISWC 2015 should contact Dr. Natasha Noy (noy< at >stanford.edu) who will work with the SWSA members who are co-ordinating the bidding process for ISWC 2015. Any organization can apply to host the conf

Hi,

In Turtle there is no way of specifying a graph. But one
could get something close by having a datatype say lang:Turtle,
such that the value of this would be the graph resulting from
interpreting the content of the string to a graph.

<member> log:semantics "<http://bblfish.net/#me> a <http://xmlns.com/foaf/0.1/Person>"^^lang:Turtle

Then Turtle could have a way to express graphs, so we could
do some of the things N3 does with Turtle in a less elegant
fashion while waiting for N3 to be specfied.

GOALS AND TOPICS

More and more applications require real-time processing of massive,
dynamically generated, ordered data; where order is often an essential
factor reflecting recency, proximity or relevance. Stream and
rank-aware data management techniques are progressively providing
reactive and reliable query answering over such massive datasets,
allowing integration of highly dynamic sources. Key to their success
is the use of streaming algorithms th

OBJECTIVES

OpenMath (http://www.openmath.org) is a language for exchanging
mathematical formulae across applications (such as computer algebra
systems). From 2010 its importance has increased in that OpenMath
Content Dictionaries were adopted as a foundation of the MathML 3 W3C
recommendation (http://www.w3.org/TR/MathML), the standard for
mathematical formulae on the Web.

Topics we expect to see at the workshop include

   * Feature Requests (Standard Enhancement Proposals) and Discussions
     for going beyond OpenMath 2;
   * Further convergence of OpenMath and MathML 3;
   * Reasoning with OpenMath;
   * Software using or processing OpenMath;
   * OpenMath on the Semantic Web;
   * New OpenMath Content Dictionaries;

Contributions can be either full research papers, Standard Enhancement
Proposals, or a description of new Content Dictionaries, particularly

a caveat ... so perhaps the confusion in terminology is actually
indicative of a deeper problem ... ?

As you write:

"they are required to ask their lawyers, and their
lawyers will prefer to play it safe for their clients (it is their job!)
and advise them accordingly. And for all of these people, the CC0
license is an item of assurance."

I don't feel qualified to assess the legal situation - but what you
mention above is one of the points why we need this discussion, and why
we need to create awareness of the issues.

This workshop provides an arena for proposing and discussing good and
bad practices, patterns, pattern-based ontologies, systems, etc. The aim
is to broaden the pattern community that will develop its own “language”
for discussing and describing relevant problems and their solutions. The
workshop will be held in conjunction with ISWC 2013 and will be a
half-day event.

We invite the submission of research results i

The ECSCW 2013 Doctoral Colloquium provides an opportunity for doctoral students
to discuss their research in an international forum, under the guidance of a
panel of experienced CSCW researchers. The Doctoral Colloquium will be held on
Sunday the 22nd of September 2013 as part of the 13th European Conference on
Computer Supported Cooperative Work in Paphos, Cyprus (http://www.ecscw2013.org).

We invite students who are working in the broad field of CSCW to apply. The
strongest candidates will be those students who have a well-established research
proposal, have made some progress towards it, but are still on time to benefit
from advice and feedback by peers and senior colleagues. Selected candidates will
be expected to give short, informal presentations of their work during the
Colloquium, to be followed by extensive group

Re: There's No Money in Linked Data

I beg to differ. I have been looking at the use of linked data for both commercial and non-profit purposes and it is only with commercial used that these intellectual property rights issues pose a real obstacle.

We are still thinking in business models of the old paradigm for online business.

Think FaceBook. If enough users use linked data in predominantly streams of raw data but there are some collective cloud uses of this huge amount of data, the users of raw data become the monetizable commodity, not the linked data directly. But since the raw data defines the data user collective, the linked data acquires added value through its users through the cloud services employed.

There you have it, Pascal you have forced me to give away part of the new categories of business models I mentioned in an earlier email,

Indirect acquired added value through users.
