Hi All,

Some folks had reported issues with map on http://okfn.org/local/

This has been tracked down to combination of: new chrome version, use
of raw.github.com urls to load js files and github's use of nosniff
header.

In general we should not load js from raw.github.com as it is not a
CDN but I had been doing this as a convenience during development and
this had crept into production :-/

I've changed the url to gh-pages location:

<http://okfnlabs.org/recline.backend.gdocs/backend.gdocs.js>

And everything is now working, hurrah!

For reference, there's already a network activated plugin that allows
Administrator users of a site to insert html content into a post without it
being stripped down. That was a previous request that I built a plugin
for. Copy
it here if you like<https://github.com/rdonovan/WP-Admin-Unfiltered-HTML/blob/master/admin_unfiltered_html.php>
.

This does not suppress the
wp_autop<http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wpautop>
filter,
which is the one responsible for adding those annoying paragraph tags.
There's a really simple method of disabling
that<http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wpautop#Disabling_the_filter>within
a themes functions.php file. But I've also gone ahead and installed
the plugin suggested by Michael below which you may activate on individual
sites where needed.

Just a side note, whilst I also find this "smart filtering" from Wordpress
annoying, relying on html structure within posts/pages is generally a bad
idea. It's too easy to break as numerous users have direct access t

I like to put straight html into wordpress (this allows for nice stuff
like: http://schoolofdata.org/online-resources/) unfortunately it still
insists on beeing clever and inserts random <p> tags into my layout - thus
resulting in incorrect parsing and display by browsers. Is there any way to
tell wordpress this is html - don't touch it?

Right you are, post revisions are enabled and I see no reason to add to
this. This by itself creates significant database growth.

So, should all users who have site level "administrator" access also be
able to post unfiltered html?

I did reply on the trac ticket, a copy of that response is below. I'm on a
deadline today so I probably won't have a chance to look again until
tomorrow.

Without yet doing a thorough investigation, I suspect it relates to a
mixture of these 2 functions/capabilities in WP.
1) wp_kses - takes care of filtering out html tags that aren't allowed,
which by default is most of them.
2) unfiltered_html - controls which users have the ability to get around
the wp_kses function.

Wordpress feels most users need saving from themselves when it comes to
html tags.

I can ensure that certain users (or users of a certain role) have
unfiltered html ability.

I will investigate the version control plugin you linked in your email [1],
I have not used it before. Though I'm hesitant at first as I suspect if it
works similarly to post revisions, the database size could grow rapidly and
maybe cause further performance issues with our host.
