You just need brackets around std::max/min, like : (std::max). You will find this everywhere
in libtorrent.

Under windows, storage.cpp, approx. line 2274, the error returned when
a file doesn't exist in the 'm_storage-&gt;error()' variable has the
category: 'system_category_const'. the variable 'error_code(ENOENT,

'generic_category_const' so the inequality check always fails and
checking of partially downloaded torrents without resume data does not
complete correctly.

You are 100% correct on this part. It is proved that I can use same port to
connect two different peers for same torrent.
Then there is only one question left. Could you explain to me why I get no
connection at all when I set outgoing port (.first =.second)to be same as
listening port? Since my local client is behind NAT, the accept receives no
incoming connection from remote peer, I expect at least one outgoing
connection will be made to the remote peer. The test result shows none at
all because all outgoing connection trials get binding failure at "Address

The µTorrent client allows to append ".!ut" to uncompleted files when
downloading is in progress. When files is ready, it removes ".!ut". It
handy and simple to prevent using uncompleted files from usage.
Is libtorrent supports similar feature?

Thanks in advance.

<description>I'm afraid this is trickier than it might look. libtorrent doesn't
support sharing files between torrents. The reason is that there's no
guarantee that files with the same name will contain the same bytes, and
because of piece alignment, the hashes would most likely not line up.
Currently, all files are private for each torrent, and trying to
download two torrents to the same file will result in an error and one
of the torrents will be paused.

Since pieces would most likely not be aligned in the different torrents,
downloading one piece from torrent A into the file would not necessarily
correspond to
a piece in torrent B, even if the file had the same content in the two
torrents.

One way to support this would be to download the file in a separate
directory and once the download (or the shared file) is complete, it is
staged into the final location, and possibly compared to contain the
same data.

Hi,

My application starts downloaded torrent that is in seeding state. After a
time I see assert in udp_socket::on_read() again and again.
Is it possible to fix the problem?

    <description>Hi,
I've been using libtorrent / python binding (for Python 2.4) for windows
for a while and I gave a try on Mac.
I was happily surprised that it compiled well (apart from open-ssl) !
However, the python module (libtorrent.so) does not seem to work :

 &gt;&gt;&gt; import libtorrent
ImportError: Inappropriate file type for dynamic loading

This was compiled using boost 1.35, bjam, with python 2.4 toolset, and
the following options :
   release link=static runtime-link=static logging=none boost=source

Oh and that yes, I _have_ installed python 2.4 (2.5 is installed by
default but I need the previous version)

Any idea ?

Mogo

    <description>Hello,

I downloaded 0.14.0 from the SVN trunk and run it through with Boost 1_35_0.
I did the same steps as earlier. But unfortunately, it's still unsuccessful
as you can see from the output at http://www.pastebin.ca/1216546

Do I need to move any files from the BOOST_ROOT to the
libtorrent-rasterbar-0.14.0 folders?

If I were to follow instructions from
http://code.rasterbar.com/libtorrent/wiki/BuildVS2008 instead, how do I make
it such a way that I am able to use the python bindings because it's two
different matter I think. Thanks in advance.

Regards

<description>libtorrent 0.13.1 doesn't seem to link against boost.system, which is
required if you have a recent version of boost. You could either user
boost-1.34, or build libtorrent from the 0.14 branch, or from the
RC_0_13 branch (which is the same as 0.13.1 with a few build fixes for
more recent versions of boost).

<description>That sounds reasonable. If you send me a patch where it can be adjusted
through session_settings I will check it in.

    <description>Hello,

I am trying to get the .DLL generated so I could try to use it as python
bindings. I tried the Linux way but end up having -fPIC bad symbol problems
so I tried to do it with Windows this time.

I followed the instructions from the website and is still unsuccessful in
doing so. I am going to recap the steps that I have took to try get it done.
Please let me know if there are any mistakes along the way. Thanks in
advance.
