I never really knew how the Meridiem project (in that quartet form) came
together, but I remember the story with Massacre being Zorn calling up
Bill's studio during the recording of Meridiem and suggesting they restart
Massacre with Hayward. Is there anybody that wants to argue that wasn't
great fortune for us? I've thoroughly enjoyed everything I've heard from
them.

Does anyone know the status of the Meridiem album? I never asked, but I had
a feeling that from Percy's distaste towards this list recently that
something again went down with Bill.

He once said during a casual occasion that he passed all the tapes to Tzadik, so they may do a release of the yet unreleased stuff in the shape of a box release. It's already a while ago that he said so ... Readers of the forum have bought the Henry Cow box, so it's clear what "box" means. And to rule out concerns that this formation plays "Ambient" stuff or falls in the category of "Jam Bands?!".

Since it really sounds like an early Praxis live peformance (maybe the first live Praxis ever?!), this could be it.

Lineup would be: Bill Laswell, Nicky Skopelitis, Buckethead, Brain, DXT.

Wow, how could is this?

Glad you like 'Survive'. I thought it came out quite good, and it's nice to
see Hawk release a full-length finally.

The upcoming Jano release "Ertale" is tentatively due on June 26. Great
stuff. Hopefully I'll get the OK to post the artwork somewhere (on the site
or Facebook) soon - unless it happens to show up on Amazon or the like
first. Great Doze piece. Different from the original cover I saw a few
months ago.

recent reggae Laswell productions were'nt really exciting.
Probably because of the extremely good Sly &amp;amp; Robbie ridims.

<description>&lt;pre&gt;For anyone who ordered the Garrison Hawk vinyl - thanks for being patient.
I believe Redeye intends to have it out today as it was re-scheduled from
the date that coincided with the CD release. Manufacturing delays because
there was a lot of care put into this (i.e. high quality vinyl, not just a
thrown together release). Will be worth the wait if you're a vinyl fan.

The next release is tentatively scheduled for June 26. Jano's 'Ertale'.
Killer Ethiopian rock band recorded at the new studio in Addis Ababa. This
has been in rotation for me for months. I think it's a killer release. Part
of the planned Method Ethiopia batch of releases. Artwork by Doze Green,
which has been tweaked from the original version I saw and is even better.

Stephen has it right. Bill actually lent the money that got the label started. Tons of really great stuff on the label. Skiz has a ton of other balls in the air (published cook books and such) so as a result of that and economics, the label does not release that much anymore.

<description>&lt;pre&gt;I can't remember if I've posted this before, so my apologies if I have
(though it certainly can't hurt to do it again...).

The new Spectre album (vinyl) is ready to go, but needs to be mastered
before it can be released. Skiz has started (actually, a while back
already) a Kickstarter funding campaign in order to get the $3,000 needed
to make that happen. In short (if you are unfamiliar), you basically pledge
to back a project. All the specifics are noted on the page. You are not
charged unless the goal is actually achieved. For a $20 you get a copy of
the record (pretty much in line with new vinyl+shipping prices). So in that
instance it's almost as if you're just paying in advance for product. Seems
like more and more people are doing this to make projects economically
viable. Check out the page, read up, and if you're into it, please donate!
about 2 days left and we're really close...

Tennessee 2004 is great as it was released in edited form, BUT the full show is outstanding.

Yes, you are correct mantisaur. i have the bonnaroo show (audio) which is one of their best IMHO. there is video of the '04 Bonnaroo show (&amp;amp; some of Vegoose i think?) but i'm not sure if it's in their entirety or not (although i'm pretty sure at one time a Bonnaroo video/dvd was in circulation). seemingly most of what BL related shows exist stay hidden - unless (&amp;amp; except) of course when it is deemed necessary to make it known to anyone who might be interested that they exist. Much like the details of the "This" (?) clip. Reasons/rationale unknown.
