Hi Joerg,

I have read the thread on the FAmSCo list discussing my nomination[1].
I'd be most grateful if you could please announce that I wish to rescind
my nomination. I'm grateful for everyone's input in the matter.

i have set your status to "pending approval" - i saw susmits proposal
and from my pov i also give a +1 - but it is on FAmSCo now.

From the "RuleBook" ;)

"Regional Ambassador Mentors are a group of people - selected, proposed
and appointed by people - not by a leveling system - based on trust (and
a lot of soft facts), Prospective mentors are nominated by existing
Mentors and confirmed by FAmSCo - [1]. If you want to be a mentor for
the Ambassador group, be a good ambassador and if asked, volunteer to
help, when needed. One great way to prepare is, to be a good mentor for
the project as a whole."

    <description>&lt;pre&gt;Hello folks!

I've just signed up as a mentor for prospective ambassadors in the
APAC/India regions. I'm well versed with the Ambassadorship process. I'm
also pretty well versed with the packaging side of the community. I've
been around the community for almost 5 years now, I felt it was time to
increase my contributions towards Fedora.

I've added myself to the Mentors page[1]. Is there anything else I need
to do please?

I'm not a mentor, but I do have free cycles where I would like to help
new folks who are interested in learning rpm packaging. Since the
ambassadors' mentor-ship process requires the the prospective candidates
align with one of the fedora teams, I expect quite a few to take up
package maintainer-ship.

It's worth mentioning that the fedora medical sig requires
contributors(desperately). So, if any of the candidates are interested
in working with fedora-medical (for instance if they've worked in
healthcare), I'd be happy to provide whatever assistance they need.

I wish you all a happy new year. :)

Hi Rejaul, you don't need to be a Regional mentor to actually mentor
would-be ambassadors - it's just a label. Please don't stop that from
helping out students as you have already mentioned.

Although one would need to be a Regional mentor to get a thumbs up in
the approval process, we also rely on local ambassadors to provide
feedback on an applicant. Among other things, that's where the trust
and other intangibles get built.

HI Rejaul,

The way to become a mentor is explained on the wiki page you cite above.

"Regional Ambassador Mentors are a group of people - selected,
proposed and appointed by people - not by a leveling system - based on
trust (and a lot of soft facts), Prospective mentors are nominated by
