Hi Allwyn,

The gspca driver / framework is now in the kernel and discussion about
it shall occur in the LinuxTv mailing list (see http://linuxtv.org and
http://vger.kernel.org/vger-lists.html#linux-media).

So, I think that this list may be closed.

Thank you.

<pre>Hi Allwyn,

I agree with you that the list should be closed and the project be declared
unmainstained. The spca50x projecthas had a relatively long and succesfull life,
but all good things come to an end. Or in this case, the code lives on
elsewhere, in the spirit of open source :-)

Cheers,
Tomas

now being done on the v4l lists, I think my objections to shutting this list

Is there anyone who thinks this list (and/or this sourceforge project in
general) should remain open? Specifically, Michel and Jef, are you still
interested in having this mailing list around?

If no-one has any objections, I will close this list on 31 March 2011, and put
the project into unmaintained state.

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Well, as the gspca / vc032x evolved since last year, may you give me the

Then, which application(s) do you use to view the webcam images? Do you

<pre>Hello everyone,

I've installed the latest &amp; greatest v4l drivers from
http://linuxtv.org/hg/~jfrancois/gspca/ and tried to use the camera on a
Samsung Q1 Ultra with them. The camera reports as

Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0ac8:c301 Z-Star Microelectronics Corp.

and the gspca_vc032x driver recognizes it - dmesg shows:

However, no video tool works. cheese always reports "libv4l2: error
dequeuing buf: Input/output error" and the svv tool from the linuxtv
website just shows a green screen, nothing else. At one point, I've also
seen an error message in the log along the lines of "frame overflow

Hi David,

The webcam 0c45:613e has a sn9c120 bridge with a sensor ov7630 (not

gspca/sonixj. It seems that the sn9c102 does not recognize the sensor

module from the kernel library and check if the gspca/sonixj works?

Best regards.

The sensor is 7131r, and the bridge is probably vc0323 (although the inf

log size just does not cease to come to a halt (as is specified in the
microdia site), thereby leaving me unable to snoop the init sequence.
What might be wrong?

Also, is this the same sensor as hv7131r, as in vc032x.c?

Hi Asif,

I am very busy, but I can have a look on your traces.

As a first step, I would know a bit about the USB exchanges. I'm joining
a usbsnoop parser. May you use it with your trace and send me the
resulting output?

Cheers.

<pre>I have a ipassion webcam (below) that I need help with building a
driver for linux. I am using ubuntu 9.04

Bus 003 Device 002: ID 1b3b:2936 iPassion Technology Inc. PC
Camera/WebCam controller

I have collected about 750mb of usbsnoop data from windows.

Is there a public place where I can dump a little bit of that data and
get some help to make a linux driver?

Thanks
