Hi.

New sections in the archive are not mentioned in the sections list page [1] : education, introspection, metapackages.
This situation has some drawbacks:

- the debian policy [2] points to [1] to find the sections definitions, that does not appear there.

- some packages are already declared to belong to these sections (see eg. geogebra, girl1.2-gcr-3), so they cannot be found through their section.

Thanks,
Alexis Bienvenue.

Redundancy, confusion (because AFAIK we have no *non*-Debian events) and

Thank you, while I had forgot your email, I saw the already-done
reorganization work before and after creating the RMLL 2012 page. This
is why I decided to publicly write about this problem.

I think there are some misunderstandings:

1) I prefer the current layout, i.e. country-code/year/event-name.

2) it is a wiki, yes, but *before* any action I would like to have a
consensus, otherwise I do work which must be corrected later.

3) I want to *document* the rationale for future references, which will

Wait, I don't understand what you're saying it. I mean, yeah, we're on
the Debian wiki, and the events there are all Debian related. So, why is
it a problem to call the page Debian Events? Redundant?

Correct.
The re-organization of that page is in progress (as you can read in the

I don't see any problem in changing this thing: it's a wiki, isn't it?

Hi there!

While this is more a discussion internal to the Events Team, I would
like to raise it up to a broader audience (once and for all, even this
is only a hope).

Currently, the "entry" page is DebianEvents [1]. I would have preferred
to simply have it as Events, for two reasons: we are on the Debian wiki
and most of the events Debian participate are not organized by Debian,
thus no distinction needed [2]. Nevertheless, this is a minor problem.

[1] &lt;https://wiki.debian.org/DebianEvents&gt;
[2] &lt;https://wiki.debian.org/DebianEvents#Detailed_information&gt;

That page has a structural problem, given that the information in the
section "Adding a new event" [3] do not reflect the links just after
that section. The current instruction advises to use the name
"de/2012/LinuxTag" (country code, year, event name), while OTOH the
links below are for events related to a language:

How many Interviews does it take?

I have had several conversations with candidates recently and some interesting facts have begun to surface.

One friend said, "I had 13 interviews to eventually get hired."

Another said, "it is a 30 employee company and I have now had 6 interviews, and I am still going."

I found myself laughing and then started thinking that If a person needs to meet 20% of the staff at a firm to be "accepted," what if the company had 5000 employees? How would that work?

Maybe like this?

(Imagine the green smoke and eerie violin music of a dream)

"Yes, Mr. Jones, you will be meeting 1000 of your potential colleagues before we extend you an offer. With some luck, the interviewing proce</pre>

the CD FAQ web page but I do not know how to do that.

I think Win32 Disk Imager, Unetbootin and LinuxLive USB Creator all

niggling indication the drive letter rather than the index number has to
be used. Hence my reluctance to offer definitive advice - 'You almost
certainly . . .'

A device written by Flashnul and Win32 Disk Imager appears to be
identical to one written with dd or cat. LiLi uses the whole device,
renames /isolinux to /syslinux, adds a file or two of its</pre>

<pre>Dear Gurus,

Please reinstate my Debian forum subscriptions!

My ISP, Eskimo North, just disabled its new "spam filter",
which had proved to be bouncing way more legitimate
email than spam.

My apologies on EN's behalf for the inconvenience.

Thanks,
