<pre>
Hello

pacpl stops when calling clear_comments method [1]. This method is
provided by Ogg::Vorbis::Header but not by Ogg::Vorbis::Header::PurePerl

libogg-vorbis-header-perl was removed from debian (#594447) quite recently.
(Looks like Ogg::Vorbis::Header::PurePerl is not a drop-in replacement for
Ogg::Vorbis::Header :-/ )

arename project did replace Ogg::Vorbis::Header with Audio::Scan [2]. But such
a change should be done upstream by pacpl author.

Philip, what to you think ? Are you still maintaining pacpl ?

Data::Util provides utility functions for data and data types,
including functions for subroutines and symbol table hashes (stashes).

The implementation of this module is both Pure Perl and XS, so if
you have a C compiler, all the functions this module provides are
really faster.

This is a new dependency for libsvn-hooks-perl.

How to handle mod_perl bugs?

<pre>Hello,

I'm not sure how to handle bug #666837 for the package I built as long
as bug #666822 is outstanding. Reading through #666822 it looks as if
the Apache team plans to include 2.4 regardless of whether mod_perl2 is
ready or not. Does this mean that all packages that depend on mod_perl2
will be removed from Wheezy if mod_perl2 isn't ready by the June when
the freeze is planned?

I'm happy to do any work required to close my outstanding bug but don't
see how that's possible until mod_perl2 is updated to work with Apache
2.4. Please advise.

Thanks,
Keith.

`cpanfile` describes CPAN dependencies required to execute associated Perl
code.

Place the `cpanfile` in the root of the directory containing the associated
code. For instance, in a Catalyst application, place the `cpanfile` in the
same directory as `myapp.conf`.

Tools supporting `cpanfile` format (e.g. cpanm and carton) will automatically
detect the file and install dependencies for the code to run.

Dist::Metadata provides an easy interface for getting various metadata about
a Perl module distribution.

This is mostly a wrapper around CPAN::Meta providing an easy interface to
find and load the meta file from a tar.gz file. A dist can also be
represented by a directory or merely a structure of data.

If the dist does not contain a meta file the module will attempt to determine
some of that data from the dist.

File::Spec::Native is a stupid hack to make the default File::Spec behavior
available from a subclass. This can be useful when using another module that
expects a subclass of File::Spec but you want to use the current, native OS
format (automatically detected by File::Spec).

For example: Path::Class/as_foreign (as of version 0.24) allows you to
translate a Path::Class object from one OS format to another. However, there
is no way to specify that you want to translate the path into the current,
native OS format without</pre>

Sorry.

What I mean to say is:

I understand the wish to ensure IPv4 functions as good as possible
today, because that's what over 99% of the users use. The logical
short term solution is then to disable IPv6 whenever some conflict
surface. Unfortunately this short term focus mean Debian (once again)
risk to miss the release goal of full IPv6 support.

It makes more sense to fix the lack of IPv6 in HTTP::Daemon than to
disable it in Net::Server.

I think it might be better to add IPv6 support in other modules than
fixing problems (which isn't true problems) in this one.

While not being apart of the perl-group I do volunteer to help out,
especially things around IPv6 (which I do care about). Now there isn't
that many perl modules with bugs tagged with ipv6...

<pre>Hi Daniel.

A bit late maybe, but...

I don't agree with you (and "the rest of the perl world") here on a
general basis. getaddrinfo returns any IPv6 addresses before IPv4 *by
design*. If it were the other way around the (inevitable) transition
to IPv6 would be much harder. Of course this is only true if asking
for AF_UNSPEC (or the trivial AF_INET6) records.

In that light rewriting Net::Server to always prioritize IPv4 is dead
wrong and should be avoided. If selecting an IPv6 address is causing
any problems, this is most likely caused by old IPv4-only mindset
(like localhost always and only resolves to 127.0.0.1). If "we" are
going to have success in the v4-&gt;v6 transition this mindset must be
changed instead of breaking IPv6.

I do support your rewrite to 5.14 core modules for "native" IPv6
functionality, but not this "do not break any (already broken) IPv4
applications".

Puzzling license warning from dh-make-perl

<pre>This is from a "cpan2deb String::LCSS_XS" command:

**********
Copyright information incomplete!

Upstream copyright information could not be automatically determined.

If you are building this package for your personal use, you might disregard
this information; however, if you intend to upload this package to Debian
(or in general, if you plan on distributing it), you must look into the
complete copyright information.

The causes for this warning are:
Licensing information is present, but cannot be parsed

This is strange, considering a LICENSE file is present, as well as a
standard LICENSE=&gt;perl entry in Makefile.PL.

https://metacpan.org/source/LIMAONE/String-LCSS_XS-1.2/Makefile.PL

In fact, after looking at the create_copyright sub:
https://metacpan.org/source/DAM/DhMakePerl-0.75/lib/DhMakePerl/Command/Packaging.pm#L925
, it looks like large parts of the whole sub could be replaced with
Software::License equivs. I've started doing this for Module::Starter
myself.

Found the problem here:
