Hi,

Thanks for the patch.

Except for some strings, most of them are not helping much, in some cases
(I think, if not just don't get angry :) you may have messed up the
grammar; and yes we need to make some rules on how to use punctuations,
like in several places we use fullstops but in some it was removed; and I
think it won't hurt to use attention seeking exclamation points in.

I also prefer (at least in the menus and window labels) all caps except for
prepostions in strings so I like "Youtube Developer Key" and not "VLMC's
YouTube developer key".
Also in VLMC we're giving option to a user to set his/her own developer key
to track well all the YT/Google data apis (like uploads, errors,
authentication). I release the graphs every now and then.

I think we need to decide some ground rules on writing strings (tense,
punctuations, caps?) and put it in our coding style, in HACKING?
Perhaps Ludovic can help write the rules as he's handles our translation
folks.

I have done some of it.

Still, I am lacking the ultimate way to decide capitalization for 
not-first words. So I switched some to uppercase and others to lowercase.

I did add only few periods, some more strings might count as complete 
sentences and could use one.


I changed (hopefully on all places):
youtube => YouTube
medias => media

Used the official (?) name of "VLC media player"

"'Username' or 'Password' or 'Title' cannot be empty. "
=>
"'Username' and 'Password' and 'Title' must be provided. "


Open questions:
What about capitalization for example "actionProject_Preferences" in 
src/Gui/ui/MainWindow.ui ?

Is this a good (/correct/...) sentence:
This will restore all settings default value

I don't see any hurry for this, so feel free to recheck this extensive 
before.

Strings used in VLMC

Hello!

I checked the texts (instead of working on the german translation). IMO 
they wold benefit a lot of a native speaker's review. For example 
"medias" should be "media" as it is already the plural form of medium.

But first, I would like to remove the simple (?) cases:

-There are a lot of strings with a capital second (third) word but at 
the same time many with only the first word (if at all). I think the 
rule for the first word is: To_uppercase if (complete sentence OR first 
word after newline).
And just to state that here: Capitalization on first words is good as it 
is. This is just an example how I would describe some rules.

Is there any policy for second words?
As stated on irc, there might be some rules for menus (only menus, IIRC) 
from apple style guide.

Now pasting some of the occurring texts. I could as well change the 
other (lower case) strings to all_uppercase, if that is preferred.

Hello,

I tried to download the vlc contrib but the directory changed. Now,
the 1.1 branch is place in a « backup » subdirectory.
However, in this directory, the contrib file has not available. The
shell script waiting for :

I don’t know what file can I use to continue the contrib installation process.

build the latest source code and if possible send us patches that may fix
those build issues.
