DestroyConstitute fix

According to 
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/transcode/+bug/539106, the API 
of imagemagick has changed and DestroyConstitute() was replaced by 
ConstituteComponentTerminus(). This function is called in two places in 
transcode -- the logoaway filter and export_im. See also

You can
- compress the audio (-N 0x55 for mp3, or anything else)
- reduce the video bitrate
- use a more efficient codec like -F mpeg4

but be careful that using a codec like mpeg4 will make any further
editing more difficult with respect to MJPEG.

Guys I'm trying to record a v4l  source with say 1G/hour storage.
Here is my try:

 -g 640x480 \
 -i /dev/video0 \
 -p /dev/dsp \
 -N 0x1 \
 -Q 1 \
 -w 1000 \
 -y ffmpeg,tcaud \
 -F mjpeg \
 -J smartyuv,pv \
 -o /home/dvr/recording.avi

This makes about 6G / hour files.
I've read the wiki and docs but there seems to be no authorative guide.
Can anyone guide me? Many thanks

Great to hear that you like my plugin.

Yeah that is true, but still it needs some efforts to be ported.

I have some trouble to understand you english, I didn't have time to check MLT 
in more detail. Is the frei0r stuff used in some other application so far? 
I am planing to port the stabilize stuff to ffmpeg (Together with Daniel 
Taylor). We also want a one-pass version but this will not happen until the 
end of the year. 
 
The filename is created from the input name. However you can set it with -J 
stabilize=result=youfile:otheroptions..
I don't get it, sorry! Can you please try to formulate it somehow differently.

Hi,


Source-compiled package aren't visible into the package management
systems, so you've to check manually.

If make install succeeded, transcode is likely correctly installed.

To test, just launch 

transcode-1.2 --version

from the command line.

libtool was already installed and so i have just done a rebuild of my
package (# apt-get build-dep transcode)
it seems me that that have worked (i have had none error).
How can i be sure that i have this version 1.2.0 installed ?
I have done a :
#sudo apt-cache policy transcode
and it seems that i have only the 1.1.5 installed.
I have missed something or doing something wrong ?

If I remember the options, you can try the following commands :
aclocal -a
autoconf -a
automake
./configure
make
sudo make install

Strangly, i have an error. I will test tomorrow on my other system because
it seems that i have already fetch the sources that i have done a update.

Just issuing the command previuosly reported (
hg clone http://hg.berlios.de/repos/tcforge        
) in a terminal window will fetch the sources.


Something like that should work:
$ hg clone http://hg.berlios.de/repos/tcforge
$ cd tcforge
$ autoreconf -f -v -i

after that you're ready to go on the usual route:

$ ./configure
$ make
# make install

I know that not the purpose of a programmer (or  a team same if it is more
easy), but today it is not important to realise a good software, a good
documentation (same if it is essential) but having a good communication is
fondamental i.e. If people don't come at you you come at them giving envy to
come at you after. That's like this i see the thing and by experience (i'm
in contact with severals developpers of some projects like EKD, Gmic,
cover-thumbnailer) that prove that i have reason.

When we have spoken this between us and i have proposed to create a external
tool for using it certainly, it will be the solution that we will taken. But
it will be better if he was include in by any way and i  prefer ask here if
it is possible. I have not taken contact with the mailing-list of MLT Team.
Another idea (general) : Transcode comes with 60 filters, it will be useful
to consider/include them in the great video Framewok that is MLT. It will be
benefits for the both.

I was asking this because i was seeing for TTcut (a great application
unfortunately dead snif) that for working on a version of Ubuntu (i don't
remember this one) you must patch the version of Trancode. So i was
wondering how to do ?

I think that'd be great as well -- I still _use_ Transcode quite a bit,
and I still occasionally commit a patch when I run into a problem.
It's just that I don't have the time to devote to more extensive work
on the program.

I have never use HG and how to process for grab and for update the
development version ?

And after the more complicated how to compile it ? You said on your website
(=> tcforge) that the two version can exist, so how do it ?
My system is an Ubuntu Lucid Lynx and Koala Karmic in 64 bits for the first
and in 32 bits for the second.
