If you are on a Mac, and use the system Address Book, I think this is
possible. You need to have your own info in an address card, and have
it labeled by the Address Book as "me". Make changes, and tell Address
book to alert people to the changes. I've seen this, but never used
it. But look for it.

You may not need to (order that book). Check out this firmware upgrade you can flash on to your particular router. Other routers too! The upgrade replaces the factory LinkSys firmware with an Open Source Linux base version that provides Power User features you just will not believe. I cannot rave enough about this upgrade.

Oliver,
I'm not sure if we're crazy, maybe a little masochistic though. :-) Seriously I think it depends on what you use your newt for on the internet. As you've mentioned surfing modern websites sucks but I think that has a lot to do with our outdated software. However the newt seems to do email pretty well and I've had success with websites that are text only or have limited graphics. I setup my newt for email so doing the extra work to get it on the web was more of a novelty even though it took me awhile to get it working lol. That being said, I currently use a blackberry for most of the jobs my newt used to do (including email) but my newt still serves for holding my work notes (charts, logs, etc.).

from Microsoft although I also have VirtualBox from Sun for my Ubuntu use.
Both work well. I use the Virtual PC with Win98se for loading, backing up

price tag. So, my advice, a virtual machine with a copy of windows Win98se
or older.

Binhexer?

Hi, folks,

I'm just starting to fool around with voice notes on my Newt 2000. Nifty! But I don't have a way to transfer them; I see (from searching the archive) that Binhexer would do what I want, but the site it was available from is no longer up, and I don't see a replacement site. Any ideas as to how one might find this program?

Best,
Jon

Ron,
I'd better quit going to bed after posting on Newtontalk! Yes, it' s a WRT-54G. I've seen the books on using these, and almost ordered one. Maybe I will now. I also like the idea of being able to use one of my three macs to broadcast a wireless signal which the Newton could pick up, I think. Even our G3 ibook clamshell from about 1999 will do this. Never had so much learning fun with computers until I got a mac. Think the same thing is going to happen with the Newts. I really appreciate the helpful responses from everyone.
Gregg

I've been thinking of purchasing a new phone (saving money now) and it may be an iPhone (or a Nokia N97 -droool-)

I was wondering if any fellow geeks have created Newton themes for jailbroken iPhones or S60 phones. :-)
