"Whenever you use the Print Assistant wizard, you need to specify "Inches"
under "Page Settings" before proceeding to select a page layout. If you do not,
you cannot select the 3.5 x 5" layout. This needs to be specified every time,
including if you press "Back" from the page layout selection.

What's the status on this?

I'm looking for a way to mass upload/export to different services (i.e. upload
to Flickr, Picasa, 500px etc. in one click). Adding this functionality into the
batch queue would be useful.

I can reproduce the problem with one additional step after "Press Ctrl-1":
- select another picture (triggering to apply changes from the right side tab)

Problem: ImageDescEditTab::slotReloadForMetadataChange() bails out if there
have been user edits.
Solution: change tracking, which adds another level of complexity to metadata

When using "extended search", one has to select specific folders. 

Whereas subfolders are selected too, when selecting folders at other places, in
"extended search" this option does not work, unfortutately. 

Therefore, one is forced to select each foider seperateley. 

With 2614 subfolders this is no option.

Trying to revive this WISH as we're now in 2.6 ....

While I'm not interested in exporting to Lightrroom or another 3rd party
product, I'm more interested in importing/exporting the tag hierarchy between
digikam installs !

I think it's becoming a common scenario that people have a digikam install on a
beefy computer at home but also have an install on a laptop or like in my case
on a netbook and I wish I could do some of the DAM work on the go but still
have the same tag hierarchy that is available on the home PC.

So maybe a simple import/export to a digikam proprietary XML file would
suffice.

I have the same problem, created a new user without digikam or any other
software than just kontact, but the empty and "nemopuk" tags still invest the
tags view.  Thousands of them slowing kontact down to a crawl.

Yes. In fact I erased the whole digikam directory and re-extracted it from tar
file to make sure I won't miss anything.

Same error.
I tried to compile it on F14, which is quite old. But even after I compiled and
installed new libkdcraw 4.8.3 (including -devel package) it still gives me the
same error.

Yes. Since 2.6.0 beta3 I get the same error. beta2 didn't have this problem,
though.

personally, i never use local path to test digiKam.

I have 2 local source code repositories : one with stable code, one
with experimental.

Both are configured to be installed in KDE dir (/usr on my computer).

To switch cleanly between stable <=> experimental, it's easy :
uninstall first and install second instead. Use make uninstall to
remove a version. It's perfect.

To test without to break my image collection DB, i created another
user which store a test DB for experimental sessions.

You install digiKam outside KDE dir.

i do not find shared lib of digiKam.

Your install dir must be in the PATH to work properly.

You will see another problem to load all plugins.

You don't use the best way to run and test digiKam...
