You can probably use the passwd application to have users change

simple setups can then be administrated through the horde admin
screen. More complex setup could use vilma but this is unreleased beta
software.

I have set up a email server using exim4 and dovecot imap with virtual

How do i configure horde4 to change user passwords and create new users. I
searched a lot but only found how to change passwords using mysql database.
Please advice.

Only IMP can't do that ;/ However, I'll upgrade Horde_Mime and put feedback

Turns out that PHP's convert_uudecode() implementation is broken.
Fixed in Horde_Mime 1.6.1.

FYI: It is possible that an IMAP server could refuse to serve that
message since it contains an invalid MIME type (x-uuencode) - these
servers appear to not be willing to send unknown content-encoding data
in a bodystructure return. Some servers are more lenient than others
in what they serve, however, so it does work on some. Dovecot 2.1
will display the message, for example.

this appears to be in the searchSortMailbox mailbox, may the required
sorting cause the trouble?

did anything change much in the PHP IMAP that could cause these
troubles?

IMP is a MUA (mail user agent). But design, MUAs have no concept of
the mail store. Instead, MUAs interface the mail store through an
abstraction layer - in IMP's case, either POP3 or IMAP. So you need
to look at your POP3/IMAP server to determine the issue.

I just installed horde4-webmail from port tree of FreeBSD 8.2. with
imap-uw-2007f as imap server. I found that all mail were deleted after
clicking 'purge deleted'. It made me shock on what it happened. So, I
tried to create several folders, and purged them again. As I clicked the
"purge deleted" button, all mails were deleted again, even I didn't mark
any mail deleted yet. After trying several times, I found that if I
created a folder as MIX mailbox format, and all mails in that folder
were deleted. If I create it as traditional MBOX format, it worked fine.
so I think there must be something wrong with MIX format with
horde4-webmail. Could someone help me to deal with the problem? thank
you.

one (only one for now) of our customers can't see listing of its mail
when using php 5.3 and horde webmail 1.2.11.
With php 5.2, it is OK. Other customers don't have problems (at least
we had no report yet).

I see many errors:
"Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in ..."

and a few:
"PHP Strict Standards: Non-static method <...> should not be called statically ..."

The only other error looks like this:

PHP Warning: array_intersect(): Argument #1 is not an array in /www/horde/lib/Horde/IMAP/Search.php on line 156
PHP Warning: array_values() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in /www/horde/lib/Horde/IMAP/Search.php on line 156

I know that upgrading to H4 is way to go, but unfortunately now I can't
do it, but I'd like to solve its problem.

Anyone has an idea what could go wrong?

Thank you.

some of our users are sending x-uuencoded emails. If email contains an
attachment, the file downloaded via IMP gets corrupted. I've tried to set
$mime_drivers['plain']['uuencode'] = true, but that didn't help -
attachments still gets corrupted (Probably because this is the plain text
viewer's option). I've tried to send email with PDF attachment - everything
went fine, but docx and doc files can't be opened.

I've attached demo message, containing a simple doc file as an attachment,
which IMP can't download "correctly".

This happens both on IMP 5.0.18 and an old one IMP 4.3.6
