<pre>Thanks, Lynne. Finding you all depends on exactly how early in the
morning I have to look for this sun, and whether or not it'll be where I think it
is. The problem is I once noticed the darn thing went down in one place
and came back up in the other direction entirely. Very confusing. I
haven't been able to count on it since.

<pre>Hi Annery and everyone,
Still here. Seems with all this technology I ought to have more time, but I don't find it to be so. Also still planning to get to Oregon in August. Time will tell. Best wishes to all,
Tony

Hey, back to you, Butch.

I, for one, am still here...in Florida just now, wondering where
Westerfield went. I know Lynne is somewhere near, but my sense of direction is so
bad trying to find her is out of the question.

Mary's probably still out here in cyberspace somewhere, but our moderatrix
Jeanene went MIA years ago. From what I could tell from her Facebook page

<pre>Hi Butch and all,

I agree it has been a bit quiet or maybe theres sleeping members like me - this is the first post I've put up here - I'm a huuuge Townes fan but never really posted - maybe theres more like me - I have most of the music and play myself - done a few covers - my favourites are Pancho &amp; Lefty, Rake, Lungs, Lorreta, Waiting around to Die...

Anyway - heres a big hello from Sussex, UK...

Harry

Janet and I are still in Arkansas for a couple more weeks.
Usually we only have open mics when we are gone but this
time I let Lee Brooks book some acts on some of our open
mic nights. Hope you will enjoy the changes. It has been the

the slow-paced, relaxed experience of island-hopping through a long

Fri. May 31, 2013--Kevin and Dustin Welch Kevin Welch
&lt;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7AinN0lMto&gt; has been

referred to as a 'songwriters songwriter' an expressive singer and a
great guitarist.

His songs have been recorded by a variety of artists including Roger
Miller,

Trisha Yearwood, Jimmy LaFave, The Highywaymen, Tracy Grammer,

Linda Ronstadt and the list goes on. That said, no one does a Kevin Welch

song like he does.. He casts a spell over his audience with his words,
sincerity,

musicianship and when the night is over you know you have

experienced something special. Kevin is among a handful of truly

great American songwriters, regardless of genre. He was Americana

before they had a name for it and few performers can fill a room

with their presence as well this thoughtful Okie.

His latest release, Patch of Blue Sky on Texas' Music Road Records,

` is just another example of the great songwriting that his fans have come

to expect from this outstanding musician.. http://www.kevinwelch.com/

Dustin &lt;http://www.dustinwelch.com/&gt; is also performing with his
father!! Dustin Welch was born on

a cold Winter Solstice in a haunted plantation house on the grounds of a

Tennessee horse farm. His birth room was heated by a red-hot $80 tin stove

that burned whatever deadwood trees his dad could drag out of the woods by

tractor and chains. He was the first born son of a first born son. His
mother was

the daughter of an Indian Princess, and the grand-daughter of one of
the last

living original members of the Osage Tribe. That very night his father made

a silent promise, a sacred promise, that the boy would have a mandolin
on his

fifth birthday. Probably inspired largely by his early exposure to Bela
Fleck's

Revolutionary approach to the banjo, Dustin began devising a unique style

of his own. Bare-fingered, open tuning, Appalachian flavored grooves and

melodies coupled with literate lyrics, strange and beautiful,

and the songs kept coming. He wrote them by himself,

he wrote them with friends, relatives, the friends of relatives....

the magnitude of Shake's contributions to music, one need only listen

to his life's work. From his 1976 album, "Songs on the Radio," to the 2006

CD, "Love is Why," Shake's music is a testament to the reasons why

he is so widely celebrated as a Texas music legend. He recently received a Lifetime

It was two years ago April 15th, 2011, that Obama ordered Holder to stop
all the on line gaming. It's funny, that is about the same time they
were looking
at the Extremist Muslim Boston Bombing idiot that was killed in the
shoot-out. It sure seems
like they could have used our resources much better than busting poker
players.

I have criticized Obama on many fronts, but the fact he likes Rap Music
and hates
poker are the worse, ha, my priorities are mixed up I guess............

(This is a re-post from the tragic day when BO outlawed online poker)

Eric Holder and the Un-Justice Dept. recently ( April 15th,2011) busted
three of the largest
on-line poker sites. I am livid!!! Thank Howard there are two sites
still going.
I guess they will come and close the OQAC. I am one of the lowest of
the low.
I am one of those horrid people on their computers playing a game of skill,
minding their own business, quietly having fun, not causing trouble,
paying
our own way, not getting any government handouts, we have to be stopped!!!!

It's a catch 21. I cashed out about $1500 of about 5 grand I have on 4
sites. I assume
I will not get that money. One site actually wanted a Jpeg of my
drivers license.
That seemed weird, the next day the site was totally gone. Of course
this is a
virtual lie, I don't gamble. Gambling is a game of chance and my
opponents don't
have a chance. So I virtually didn't do anything. This may have been
written
by "Hal", my computer, while I was playing "Cards" with friends. I plan
to fight
this atrocious tentacle of the federal government in its attempt to
strangle what
freedom we have left to feed its hideously obese body. I'm not bitter.
virtually.
The dept. of un-justice wants me to petition through the DOJ to get my money
back. Yea, I'm going to go through Eric Holder for my poker
winnings.....WTF

I am a long standing Libertarian, when I talk about the Far Left, in no
way am
I trying to impune my good Democratic friends and I also have many close
liberal
friends that simply want, like me, a great and just country. Instead of
lambasting
people, I strive to find common ground...............W (But I still
don't like Muslims)

What is it with this administration that they WILL NOT say the words
"Muslim Extremist"?
They are so quick to use the words "Right Wing Extremists". So I guess
this bombing
is "Left Wing Extremists"? right? I mean left? right, dam, now I'm
confused......

I have the answer to the Muslim problem on airplanes. Just make
everyone who gets
on a flight take a big bite out of a ham sandwich. They won't do it, I
think Allah
takes away one virgin for each bite. But you know, if a suicide bomber
gets 72 virgins, what
makes them think they are girls? As you know there are no "Gay"
muslims, but Allah
may feel differently......

I have been extremely hard on muslims since 9/11. If I were gay, I
would convert to Islam.
the men are already on their knees 5 times a day.

I have never understood why the far left loves muslims and always take
their side? They
are supremacists, they feel like their religion is the best and only
legitimate one. A Christian
may say you will go to hell, but a muslim will try to send you there.
My main beef with
the Muslim religion is the horrible treatment of women. I can't for the
life of me understand
how people can agree with women being treated like cattle. Even in the
so called liberal
Saudi Arabia, women can't vote or drive. Where are the women's rights
groups?
Where is the ACLU, where are and freedom lovers? Where are the women
speaking
up for womem????????? That's a head scratcher....

If I lived in Boston, I would go down the the local "Blood Bath &amp;
Beyond" and buy a gun.

As you know Obama attended the dedication of the new George W Bush Library.
I think he is taking notes for the opening of his library, the "I blame
George W Bush Library".

<pre>Questions for site owner and members.

Has the Yahoo AboutTownes site been abandoned? Is there a better site where TVZ Fans can communicate and share Townes Music? I have noticed the Yahoo site gets a lot of SPAM nowadays, glad I have a good SPAM TRASH basket.

I miss the old OKOM discussions. I just finished reading June's issue of Acoustic Guitar magazine, actually re-read the TVZ article 2xs and will probably go back to research some areas I marked for further reading.

Big Shout Out for the Old Quarter and "Wrecks", hope all is fine there in Galveston.

Anyways Folks, just wondering where the AboutTownes people are now.

Keep On A Pickin'

<pre>Hi Everyone,

I am making a documentary about a man named Daniel 'donut' Antopolsky.
Daniel, as some of you may or may not know, was a close friend of Townes for the period of his life when he wrote Pancho and Lefty.
I would love to chat with anyone who might have any information, photos, knowledge about their relationship.
Townes, was and always will be one of the great songwriters of the past century and i would love to discover anything about his relationship with Daniel.
I am also happy to discuss my project about Daniel, should it be of any interest to any of you.

Thanks so much for reading this email and i look forward to chatting with you all.

Best

Matthew
