If they are too common, it might indicate an automated CVS tool that isn't 
closing cleanly.  Is that why you said cron job?  Possible stdin/stdout 
or password problem.

Hi folks,

TL;DR New common-lisp.net users now need to send their SSH key to
enroll.  A PGP key is no longer required.

I got two responses regarding PGP usage, both of them agreeing that
they are not useful enough to keep them an hassle our new users with
installing gpg.  Instead, new users now need to send their SSH public
key.  Please let me know if you have any issues with the change.

PGP key

Hi guys,

does anyone here feel strongly about the PGP key requirement for new
users?  Given that asdf-install is dead and the common-lisp.net key
ring does not fulfull any useful purpose, I would like to change the
new user shell script so that instead of requiring a PGP key, a ssh
public key would be required and be used to grant the new user access.
 The password would be left empty (password, ha!).

Any objections?  Please speak up.  Otherwise I'll make the change.

The purpose of the European Lisp Symposium is to provide a forum for

The main theme of the 2012 European Lisp Conference is
"Interoperability: Systems, Libraries, Workflows". Lisp based and

to become more and more integrated with the wider world of Information

dimensions to the scope of the solutions proposed, ranging from

I think I found the problem.  My trac.ini didn't set smtp_enabled to
true so emails weren't sent.  After setting smtp_enabled to true, I am
getting emails now.

I don't recall ever changing that to false.  Maybe the update to trac
0.11 changed behavior?

Anyway, it seems to be fixed now.  Sorry for the trouble!

Hmm.  I created a new ticket, but no email is sent out.  I don't think I
changed anything significant in trac.ini, but I can't be sure.  Most of
my changes would be through the trac admin web interface.

Nothing unexpected in trac.log either.

Just noticed that the trac ticket mailing list doesn't seem to be
working for cmucl.  According to the list archives (cmucl-ticket), the
last ticket emailed was in June 2011.  But there have been more tickets
created or modified since then, but I haven't received any emails about
them.

Is it a config problem for cmucl, or does it affect other projects?

Thanks for putting the log rotation in place.   I think my projects were
the worst offenders, but I deleted most of the huge logs before you
implemented the rotation and compression.  Can't remember exactly how
much, but df went from something like 65% usage to 62% after I deleted
them. :-)

Hi Raymond,

The errors are probably due to the fact that our older version was
installed in python's default search path. I've just upgraded the
mercurial plugin to 0.11.10 (latest for Trac 0.11).

After restarting Apache, I didn't see any new errors pop up in the
logs when browsing the repository through Trac.

log rotation of trac logs

As Raymond Toy already pointed out earlier, we had lots of huge logs
of Trac laying around in our file systems. Today, I set up logrotation
for trac.log in all projects. The total size of the files was
instantly reduced from >800MB to < 44MB!

It doesn't seem useful to me to retain the logs longer than 4 months,
so I set up weekly rotation with 17 weeks of history.

Can we update trac mercurial to 0.11.0.8 or later?  I'm getting the
error messages as mentioned in http://trac.edgewall.org/ticket/8897.

I don't see anything bad happening, but the log file fills up pretty
quickly with the error messages.

I tried to update it myself using the trac admin interface to plugins,
but it complains that it's already installed.
