Great !

First remark, you should remoev the -I option. It can only create
problems (even if here it's probably not the case).

Then if you restore in a VM you need to read and use that doc:
http://www.mondorescue.org/docs/p2v.pdf

Finally, the pata_acpi that you seem to use was missing in my list sio I
added it (Cf: http://trac.mondorescue.org/changeset/3012 that you may
apply to your version)

HTH,

Alan,

Thanks for the reply, but I don't have a start_udev on my 64bit Kubuntu Natty 11.04 system.

$ locate udev | grep bin
/sbin/udevadm
/sbin/udevd
/sbin/upstart-udev-bridge
/usr/bin/dh_installudev

Tom,
I assisted with some debugging of a situation along these lines. If it?s the same issue, a temporary fix is to alter the called shell for the /sbin/start_udev script from /bin/sh to /bin/bash.

If I recall correctly, the problem had to do with mindi having issues with /bin/sh.

Here?s the first few lines of the script:

[root< at >taeps002 etc]# cat /sbin/start_udev
#!/bin/bash
##########/bin/sh
#
# start_udev

My previous reply had the attachment rejected by the mailing list's server, so I'm trying again.

I think that made things worse. The log now has MANY more "No space left on device" errors, even though the destination drive has over 250 Gb free. The new log is attached.

The protocol is not supported by MondoResceu internally.
You will have to make your mount separately (anyway as for other
protocols) and backup to disk.

At restore time, you would need to use a pre= script on the boot line in
order to invoke the CIFS mount before trying to restore. You may combine
that with a PXE boot if you want.

Of course, would be better that the tool supoprt it out of the box, and
I have a ticket opened for that:
http://trac.mondorescue.org/ticket/208

You may also want to contribute a patch back. You may want to grep -ri
sshfs in the code tree and add what is needed for CIFS. Of course, I
could do that easily, provided that you give to me examples of the calls
that you have to pass on the CLI to support that.

HTH,
Bruno.

You didn't happen to mention what version of Mondo you're using.

However, I see an issue in your -E exclusions list. You appear to have
spaces between the "/" and the rest of each path, and if you're using
newer versions of Mondo, you can no longer use a space as the delimiter
between excluded paths, you need to use the "|" symbol instead.
