lynx-cur shouldn't require a build-dependecy on exim4, just to
hardcode /usr/sbin/sendmail. Attached patch fixes this.

Hi,

/etc/cron.monthly/exim4-base refreshes GnuTLS via
/usr/share/exim4/exim4_refresh_gnutls-params

This file is left with the following owner/permissions:
-rw------- 1 root root 424 mai 2 14:46 gnutls-params

This avoid some messages to be sent and gives the following message in exim4
mainlog:
2008-05-18 14:49:02 TLS error on connection from localhost (tangerine)
[127.0.0.1] (failed to open /var/spool/exim4/gnutls-params for reading:
Permission denied (euid=100 egid=102))

Initial install of exim4 gives the follwing permissions:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 424 mai 2 14:30 gnutls-params

Regards

Can you elaborate on the reasons? Are there stuff which could break?

But now I know how this happens:

The de.po from the archive is modified by debconf-updatepo (because of
the fuzzyness, which is fixed now) - so on it isn't exactly the same
file with that I build the package.

The original de.po from 1.2-5 is now attached and the one for 1.2-6 with
the diff from you.

no i meant that usplash is *enabled* unless you pass nosplash bootarg.
the change was made several revisions ago, an installed usplash
is default enabled. so you have to "grep" for nosplash if you don't want
unsplash to be shown on shutdown.

cool.

May 18 05:08:45 twinlark sshd[5681]: Accepted publickey for dean from 10.1.1.1 port 37262 ssh2

and fail2ban considers the "Failed none" to be an attack... enough
successful logins like this and the IP is banned. this is broken.

best fix i can see is to be more explicit about the
/etc/fail2ban/filter.d/sshd.conf filters, such as:

            ^%(__prefix_line)sFailed password for .* from &lt;HOST&gt;(?: port \d*)?(?: ssh\d*)?$

<title>Bug#481763: [libdts] New upstrean version (0.0.5) available, but...</title>
    <link>http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.linux.debian.devel.bugs.general/438223</link>
    <description>Package: libdts
Version: 0.0.2-svn-2
Severity: wishlist

Hi all,

on the VideoLAN upstream website [1] there is a new release (0.0.5) of
libdca available. This is the library source code that builds libdts
AFAIK. However, next to the link to the tarball download the following
warning can be found:

Provisional Warning: DTS Inc. claims that use of libdca
software, to decode DTS compressed sound data on a DVD could
violate DTS's patent rights. If you are unsure about the
legality of using and distributing this code in your country, in
particular in the USA, please consult your lawyer before
        downloading it.

Well, we allready have a package of this library in Debian, it's only
for an older release (0.0.2). Is it OK to package this library anyway,
since it is a decoding library and we allready have a bunch of decoding
libraries in Debian (think of libmad and libfaad2). Does anyone know if
the patent issue does only apply to the new upstream version or if the
older version in Debian is also affected?

Cheers,
Fabian

I will appeal to install it in lenny.

You have already compiled and when the module is made by using module-assistant,
you need not compile the package of svn193 again.

Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-2+b1
Severity: important

When running "aptitude" or "screen" from a shell started inside a
konsole terminal, the backspace misbehaves. This is true even if
aptitude is used from Sid, Etch or Sarge. When the same versions of
aptitude is used from the virtual console or from gnome-terminal,
everything is ok.

Reproduction steps:
Open konsole
from the shell, start aptitude
press "/" to start a search
type something
try to delete it by pressing backspace - nothing happens.
Press ctrl-H - the last character is deleted as if backspace was pressed

Open konsole
from the shell, start "screen"
in that shell, type "12345", and then left arrow twice
Press backspace - you would expect the 3 to be deleted. Instead, the 4
is deleted.
Press ctrl-H - the three is deleted.
This problem actually happens with gnome-terminal as well, but not with
the virtual console.

    <description>Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Please remove xchat-guile from ia64 in unstable and testing.

xchat-guile is not being built on ia64 because a build-dependency
(namely guile-1.8) is not available on ia64. (Earlier versions of
xchat-guile build-depended on guile-1.6.)

This keeps it from migrating under the "not in syn on all archs"
criterium. If an architecture doesn't have guile-1.8, then no
xchat-guile for it.

I've access to grid5000 but I did not yet setup my account to easily deploy
debian image as Lucas.
What I can do quickly is to run a standalone program on many nodes. If the
work require setting up chroots or other things more complex, I think it will
be quicker to wait for Lucas to come back and to use its scripts.

If the work is a standalone program that can be easily split (to parallelize it),
I can run it today on the grid. Just send me the sources and how to run it.

    Vincent

Now, luvcview supports only the video format of YUYV/yuv and MJPG/jpg.
The device of UVC might use other video formats.
For example, Macbook iSight is UYVY format.

I attach patch. This patch support UYVY format.
I tested on Macbook iSight only display.

Please apply this patch.

Following the recent discussion in #50859, I hereby request that xfs
should be compiled with syslog support. This is achieved by #defining
USE_SYSLOG, you probably want to do add -DUSE_SYSLOG to CFLAGS or
CPPFLAGS. Here is a patch for the latter:

thanks

Hi,
CVE-2008-2302 was assigned to this. Please mention this CVE
id in your changelog when closing this bug.

I also doubt that this issue is important enough to justify
a DSA, however please contact the stable security team to
verify this.

Kind regards
Nico
