Hello everyone!
 Does anyone have cdfs for linux kernel 2.6.26.3? I have the cdfs-2.6.23
version and tried to compile it for my new kernel, but it fails with a few
errors about implicit declaration of function iget and problems with a field
read_inode.
 Any ideas on this?
 Kindest regards

I got ketchup now, but it fails. I proceeded like this:
downloaded linux-2.6.26 and patch-2.6.26-rt1.
 Unpacked the kernel and patched it with rt.
 Then in the linux-2.6.26 dir I typed:
ketchup 2.6.26.3
 It downloaded some signature files and tried to verify them. Then it finally
said:
download http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/v2.6/patch-2.6.26.3
 And failed, because it couldn't find this file. Shouldn't it be looking for
a .bz2 file. It says so somewhere in the code, as far as I'm able to read it.
 any help/hints on this?

Hi Julien

I had this all bookmarked a couple of weeks ago, but deleted them when I
got my system working :(

The easiest way to get your kernel patched correctly is to use ketchup -
not the regular ketchup, but one that understands the RT patches.

Here's the RT-aware ketchup:

<http://people.redhat.com/srostedt/rt/tools/ketchup-0.9.8-rt3>

Have a read of the RT wiki:

<http://rt.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Main_Page>

RT patches:

<http://kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/>

I think you are right - there doesn't appear to be a patch against
2.6.26.3 yet; I would advise that you get ketchup to build you
2.6.23-rt1 to start with.

You would probably benefit from joining the linux-rt-users mailing list
(I did!). Details on at vger.kernel.org:

<http://vger.kernel.org/vger-lists.html>

Hope this helps!

Cheers

M

Hi all!
 I'm trying to patch the linux kernel version 2.6.26.3 with the rt-patch. But
there's only a patch for 2.6.26. It's not working very well. Because some
changes were already taken into the kernel. Which command should I use to do
the patch properly. Or should I stop patching all together? Or is there another
experimental place to get newer rt-patches.
 Thanks and kindest regards

Maybe you can file a bug report somewhere?

So `lsmod | grep snd_usb_audio` returns output? If it shows
"snd_usb_audio" on the left after running that then the module is
loaded. Also, if the module doesn't exist, then `modprobe modulename`
will return an error, otherwise there will be no output, which means
the module has loaded.

ok, I am in front of my machine and have my zoom here now. I just tested the
exact steps I take to get things to work:

ok, it comes up and asks audioi/o or connect to pc

press the wheel / button to the top of the right side once

you should see audio i/o and under that connect and sample

press the wheel / button to the top of the right side once again

the usb audio does not show up after the first press here but does after the
second.

A few times I have forgotten this and been burned / confused until I finally
remembered to press the second time.

I think, the Zoom is a USB-audio device, so make sure you have
snd-usb-audio loaded: check with "lsmod | grep snd-usb-audio". If it's
not loaded, load it with "modprobe snd-usb-audio" and use whatever tool
your distribution provides to load it automatically.

After loading, unplug and replug the device and watch /var/log/messages

some level of Gig support as well. Libinstpatch, which is swami's patch
editing library is also great for editing patches programatically, with
the python binding for instance. I would also recommend swami simply
because Josh is such a cool, responsive, & helpful person.

Also, I have found with open source that if something is broken in a
project it is often fruitful to try a different, even older, version of
the project. So, you may consider trying a different version of libgig &
gigedit.

You might want to look at S90ES (I have a S90) which has similar nice

than the P90 that I initially got. Yamaha has portable stage piano as
well, but I do not recall the model number.

I did not like the keys on the M-Audio at all. You may want to check
