Would it be ok to add a Quick install instructions portlet in /products are
under Project info?

"For generic Plone add-on installation guidelines please consult this
tutorial http://plone.org/documentation/kb/installing-add-ons-quick-how-to"

This is mostly to tackle the issues with not specific installation
instructions in add-on rEADMEs.

Request for assistance: some roadmap-related Tracchanges

<pre>Hi all!

On behalf of the Plone Roadmap team, I have a few small requests for
changes to our Trac instance, intended to eliminate confusion possibly
caused by the old "http://dev.plone.org/roadmap" report being mistaken
for the actual new Plone Roadmap (http://plone.org/roadmap). We
believe that the Trac "roadmap" template is still useful, but that it
is more of a "PLIP Status Report" than a true roadmap, and to that
end, we would like to see the following changes:

1) Establish a 301 Redirect from http://dev.plone.org/roadmap to
http://plone.org/roadmap (to preserve inbound links/googlejuice).

2) Rename the existing Trac 'http://dev.plone.org/roadmap' template
to "http://dev.plone.org/plips"

3) Update any internal links pointing to http://dev.plone.org/roadmap
within Trac (I'm not aware of any, but haven't checked thoroughly)

4) Include a link in the Trac PLIPs template
(http://dev.plone.org/plips) saying "Looking for the Plone Roadmap?

If anyone on the AI Team can help out with this, please let me know!

Thanks in advance.

The test coverage job currently runs on a nightly basis:

https://jenkins.plone.org/view/Plone%20Core/view/Plone%204.2/job/plone-4.2-test-coverage/35/cobertura/?

The jobs takes 20 hours to complete. We might want to find a way to run
the code analysis faster in the future.

I will try to set up the code analysis job next and then look into the
github messages problem.

I think the quickest solution would be to just create an additional job
for Python 2.7 for now. For the future I would like to look into a
multi-configuration job setup, otherwise we will end up with a lot of jobs.

What about Jenkins jobs for Plone 4.3? I could use them as a playground
to test new job configurations as long as 4.2 is not out of the door.

Fantastic work, Timo. It's an obvious improvement over the ones we currently have. I'm all in favor of switching to these now. We'll work out the commit messages as we go.

As a side note for everyone, we're now officially supporting both Python 2.6 and 2.7. I'd like to run against both, if we could. Are we better off with two separate jobs or as a single multi-configuration one?

Hunting for conference materials

<pre>Hi all

The web followup on the Plone conferences can improve. (Please pardon my
leaving out many "IMHO" below.)

- The current conference site should link to previous conferences, or to
 http://plone.org/events/conferences/
 This improves continuity and better rewards the investment in preparing &amp;
 recording of previous years' sessions.

- The conference pages under http://plone.org/events/conferences/ are mostly
calls for proposals. After a conference, the call for proposals should be
moved into an archive folder, and be replaced by links to retrospectives and
 recordings of sessions.

- The official conference sites are naturally forward-looking (last year's site
starts with: "Almost time!"). However this means that they're not useful
to revisit after the fact. It would be cool if they aggregated and/or
collected photos, posts, etc. about the event.

Actually the schedule in the http://2011.ploneconf.org/ site links to Fuze
audio recordings of the sessions, and the site has a "Watch the talks
online!" area which links to Fuze. It wasn't obvious to me that these are
recorded sessions, not live, and it isn't highlighted on the site.

- http://lanyrd.com/2011/ploneconf/ looks pretty good, and will probably get
better for subsequent conferences. Right now its site link is old though
(http://ploneconf.org/). Perhaps a permalink could be provided for sites
 like lanyrd to use?

- I tried http://2010.ploneconf.org/ but ended up on a domain parking site.

- At the moment I believe videos are spread among third-party sites, like
blip.tv, youtube, fuzemeeting, ... I see that conference recordings are
 being uploaded to http://archive.org/details/opensource_movies
Perhaps that's a good place to preserve all the videos together in the
 longer term.

- Plone.org should give a hand to community and regional events also.
http://plone.org/events/regional lists some (in no particular order), but
 http://plone.org/events/community shows only upcoming events.

<pre>Hi there

The "providers" dropdown at http://plone.org/support/sites/..../edit
seems to show only "Mooball IT".

Also the comment popup is looking a bit sick.

Ok, from our company page
http://plone.org/support/providers/k-gigas-computers-s-l
I've clicked "Hosting provider" where it says "Filed under: Custom
development, Consulting, Hosting provider".

I noticed it happens with the other categories as well.
Again... thanks to you for fixing it.

Danilo

Confirmed. I'll try to fix it today or tomorrow (looks like some items are missing from the uid_catalog for some reason).

It's not related. How did you get to the &lt; at &gt;&lt; at &gt;search URL? That is the new search from Plone 4.2 but it's not supposed to be enabled yet because of the issue I need to debug...

Thanks for the report!
