When installing a theme on enfold server, the portal-top and some other stuff still have background-image etc from the "default" enfold theme.

I dont have access to a enfold server (personally), but assume there must be some stylesheet not "unregistering".

Does enfold server have customized main-template?
Or maybe there is something in ploneCustom.css ?

Is there anyone that knows what css-files that are in "Enfold Red Theme" (been told that this is the default)

    <description>Hi,

I'm still stuck in Plone 2.5 and as a stop-gap before I do a mass
migration of multiple sites to Plone 3, I need to get RSS working for
events_listing. I tried to migrate to 3 but many of my sites blow up.
I'll have to do a 1 week part everything out and move it over deal. In
the meantime, RSS is enabled and working for
http://worldvista.org/news/RSS but
http://worldvista.org/events_listing/RSS does not. How does one get
this working for Plone 2.5? Googling and looking around in
portal_syndication didn't reveal anything obvious as to how this is or
was done. A bunch about how it is done in Plone 3. Thanks in advance,

    <link>http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.web.zope.plone.user/93828</link>
    <description>

I've released it:

    http://pypi.python.org/pypi/collective.securitycleanup

collective.securitycleanup

GenericSetup handlers to restore Zope security to defaults

WARNING: Backup your ZODB before using this package!

The Zope 2 security framework is very powerful and one of it's greatest
strengths. A lot of it's power comes from it's flexibility. Exposing
that power to site adminsitrators often ends up giving them enough rope
to hang themselves with. This is exactly what the "Security" tab in the
ZMI does.

In many cases, a site admin or consultant is faced with the daunting
task of restoring all the security settings throughout the Zope object
heirarchy in order to bring sanity and predictability back to the
site. The collective.securitycleanup package provides GenericSetup
handlers for restoring the role mappings and local roles back to their
defaults. This handler can be used in combination with existing handlers
to set role mappings and to re-apply workflow security settings to help
start the process of security cleanup.

The clean up is performed on all ancestors including the Zope
application root and by walking down the heirarchy to all
descendants. This means all descendents of the context the handler is
used on and all ancestors of the context including the root will be
cleaned up. It will not clean up siblings or anything else that is not a
direct ancestor to the context.

The clean up removes all permission settings stored on the instance
which effectively restores them to code defaults. The clean up also
removes all local roles except the "Owner" role for the user returned by
OFS.interfasces.IOwned.getOwnerTuple() if already assigned.

Use of this tool will likely only ever be a starting point. So be sure
to test thoroughly before deploying to your production server and backup
your ZODB before using it.

Ross

You can insert your own logic e.g. as part of a portlet or viewlet into
the plone rendering machinery (e.g. check Aspeli's Professional Plone
Dev. book). Within your code you check the workflow state
(portal_workflow.getInfoFor(some_obj, 'review_state')) and generate the
related HTML output or reference to JS code. JS code can be registered
using the portal_javascript registry. That's the blueprint.

New to plone and was wondering if via workflow and python scripts you can
interact with user on the front end.

I have seen examples where you can write python scripts for doing backend
stuff, such as

if workflow state is this then send email to dynamically generated list of
users/emails.

Can I do something like this:

if workflow state is this, then give an alert to the user (like a javascript
alert for example) that interacts with the user in the web page. If we can,
then can you give me an example of python script to accomplish this, keep in
mind I want to do this as part of workflow, I.E the script would run
before/after state/transition.

Thanks

<description>I have to say I understand Christopher's apparent frustration.
However, WebLion's wiki is a great resource.

I think part of the dilemma is that "Plone" is really just the
presentation/UI layer for a vast, deep web OS. (I'm not using these
terms in a formal manner, of course).

The docs for OS X or Vista or Linux are also overwhelming.
What they do offer, in one way or another, are sample applications,
"Hello World" docs, etc.

Plone has many of these resources, but the universe of possible
problems will always be larger than the universe of documented
solutions.

Plone developers will always need Google and grep and so forth. But
integrators will greatly benefit from fully developed sample
implementations, sites with 'cut-away' documentation, interviews with
the Plone Masters, etc. Perhaps the Plone Foundation will be able to
raise funds to fully document real-world implemented sites. We see use-
case presentations at the conferences, but when they are boiled down
to slide-sets and an audio track, there's often not much to go on.

I think it's very difficult sometimes to sort out the 'we want to do
this in a month'-practical from the "theoretically-possible-if-you-
happen-to-have-seven-years-of-python-behind-you" with Zope/Plone. And
I've, sadly, been in exactly the situation that Christopher describes,
with a former client choosing Typo3 over Plone after a long, painful
evaluation process.

Meanwhile, there are a few pointers for the Business Types regarding
the Plone Community. The maturity of the Plone Users base and the
depth of help available from the "candy store" at #plone are REAL
ATTRIBUTES of the Plone story. It's ALIVE ;-)
