Here is the webkit version I am using (Debian)
libwebkitgtk-1.0-0: 1.9.2-1, amd64

Would anyone have further pointers on where I can look? Could it be
the Lua version on Debian (I have 5.1.5), as opposed to Webkit?

Thanks.

<pre>Hey Robbie,

There is a plugin which at least allows saving and recalling named sessions. You could use that to maintain some idea of "workspaces". That's what I do. Check here.

<pre>Hi list! First post here, luakit has become my browser of choice and I'm
keen on contributing a bit where I can if I can.
---

I'm one of those people who tends to open &gt;15–20 tabs at a time, which
does become a little tedious to organise at times. I've experimented
with opening multiple windows, but this isn't entirely satisfactory.

How does luakit handle multiple windows? I've noticed that if I open a
link in a new window, and then quit, luakit will only close the most
recently focused window, and therefore doesn't save the entire session.

There is a plugin (not included in luakit-plugins) that attempts to
extend luakit's session management which I'm currently looking at, but
it seems to behave similarly (i.e. only save the list of currently open
tabs).

IMHO the things a session needs to save are:
* Windows open, tabs these contain
* History of each tab

I'm looking at writing a plugin that will do this, but I'm not sure
where to start regarding window management, which for me is a big issue.
How should I go about implementing this?

<pre>In that case I can tell you that I had a lot of similar problems with older
versions of webkit. Specifically random 100% cpu usage spikes and
segfaults. Upgrading to a more recent webkit helped tremendously. I'm
currently using webkitgtk-1.8.2 (64bit) on Slackware. I'm not sure how
easy it is for you to upgrade, but I expect it to help.

If you refer to tag 2012.09.13 as well, then I am still affected. It
could be because of my webkit version on Debian?
I have: libwebkitgtk-1.0-0 1.8.1-2

I'll try gdb'ing it as well.

Thanks.

<pre>Hi.

Over the past few days, I've been having some trouble with follow on
some websites with the develop branch. Here is a way for me to
reproduce the issue:

HEAD is on a9bc8e82707a2b2de944b5e258ae897fdcd51d07, and I build
luakit. And I always run luakit as:

./luakit -c config/rc.lua

Here is what I do:

:open http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/
Press 'f'
It hangs.

I tried bisecting luakit, and all commits prior to:

commit ac20f6b7b9821d7f595025eb41f902e7d8fb901b Stop jumping through hoops in follow JS loading

seem to work well for me.

I've not gone through each entry of that commit, but I wanted to check
if others can reproduce this error as well.

Thanks.

Took me a long time to get back at this. I now made sure with strace that lfs.so gets opened, and luakit works as expected. Also luakit somefile.html works. I tested on my mac os x (10.7.4 with llvm-gcc-4.2) and on a debian unstable virtual box (gcc-4.7.1).

I've redone the simple change on current HEAD in my branch macosx2 and send a pull request.

Greetings

i propose a little patch, which hides the value of all command line
arguments (argv[1]-argv[argc-1]) from the output of `ps ax`, which
gives a little security improvement on multiuser-setups (i accidently
leaked a confidential link)

execute a "notify-send" command whenever a website shows a webkit

When I click on a link that points to a pdf-file an empty window is opened and nothing happens. I can download the file, save it and open it from the terminal but that is rather cumbersome. Is there a way / Which is the way to make luakit launch my favorite pdf viewer and open the file in it when I follow a pdf-link?

(I'm pretty new to luakit and not sure whether this is the right place to ask my question. I apologize if it is not and would appreciate a hint at the right place.)

Thanks, Salome

Try packing tablist after the notebook (in window.lua).

Seems like it should work. Have you tried using "all" instead of
"boards.4chan.org"? Does it work then? If not, maybe post what
version of luakit you are using. Also, you can check the value of
luakit.data_dir by doing ":lua print(luakit.data_dir)" after running
luakit from a terminal.

not for whitelisting, just global cookie blocking. If that suits you, then
problem solved, otherwise check out rc.lua. I am using the latest from git
