I have a problem (but maybe it`s not only my problem)
The problem is related to CC license
Some of the licenses (like CC used by identi.ca and set in status.net
as default) are not translated (or for some legal reasons cannot be
translated and use in other non-English speaking countries). So trying
to follow a user on identi.ca I see:

Listenee stream license 'http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/'
not compatible with site license
'http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.5'.

The problem license is not just a translation one, as I mentioned
above (I have an email response on that topis from CC).

So my question is: is it possible (and legal?) to make an option for a
user who want to remotely observe his/her friends on compatible
status.net server? Is it possible to add "do you understand and accept
both licenses?" on the page which display now?:

You need the process control extension compiled and enabled to run the 
daemons.

Thanks for your help, I have changed the permsissions as per your suggestion
and tried to execute the script with success, I am now getting the following
output (errors):

[StatusNet-dev] 0.9.x broken

the 0.9.x branch is broken - saving a notice results in PHP Fatal
error: Call to undefined function omb_post_notice_keys()

not sure the right way to fix it but is a show stopper for doing
further dev on that branch for now. Can't tell if my changes will
break something if it's already not working.

To me - a general guideline would be things that are time/stream based
make good sense - so things like a flickr-ish photostream, blip.fm
absolutely, last.fm from a sense of tracking each song (have you seen
http://libre.fm/ yet?), delicious is a good fit.


Status update + extra/structured info (location, images, audio, a URL)
is powerful stuff - and I think via the API, you can build really
interesting stuff on top of it.

Fair point, and thanks for the kudos.

OK. I guess when you've got a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Just 
looking over different sites like Flickr, blip.fm, last.fm, delicious, 
etc. so many of them could be fairly easily re-implemented with StatusNet.

Considering what a difficult problem efficient status sharing can be, 
it's interesting to me to see how we can help people who want to 
implement it elsewhere.

i've started on cleaning up the code to adhere to pear coding styles.
This lead me to the < at >author tag.

They're outta sync - i wrote a little script to automatically write
these based on git logs (in order of number of commits)
Do we want this? The full author list in every file?

Attachments already appear as enclosures in the RSS/Atom feeds (as of
0.8.1) and you can email attachments to the system too (as part of the
regular SMS/email to update your status functionality). The API doesn't
yet support adding attachments when adding a new notice, but it will
(hopefully soon :) ).

[StatusNet-dev] Problem with function subscriptionCount andMemCached

Hello everybody,
I have discovered the following issue. When running StatusNet with  
MemCached the function subscribtionCount is not working normally. The  
"Subscribtions" count on the users profiles is not updated. When i  
restart MemCached the subscribtions count values are populated as well.

First, I'm happy to see that saigonica.com now mentions StatusNet
software.

Right now, StatusNet doesn't physically rescale the uploaded images.
GETing full version of the images and rescaling with CSS will slow page
load time.

As far as the notice item interface goes, AFAIK, the consensus right now
is to keep the look and feel simple. The notice item does show the URL
to the uploaded media which can be viewed in an overlay on click.

We/Someone however might want to approach this as a plugin. Would the
folks at saigonica.com be interested in doing this?
