Hi,

I exposed a field in hook_field_extra_fields():

$form_elements['item_description'] = array(
    'label' => t('Item Description'),
    'description' => t('Item Description (an extra form field)'),
    'weight' => -5,
  );
  $extra_fields['entity_example_basic']['first_example_bundle']['form']
= $form_elements;
  return $extra_fields;

Now I thought, by calling

  field_attach_form('entity_example_basic', $entity, $form, $form_state);

in a form callback, it will be attached to $form automatically. But it doesn't.

Is there a way to change that? Or do I have to add the form field
manually in any case?

If I there's no way to attach it automatically - what is the sense in
exposing the field in
hook_field_extra_fields()?

Cheers,

Hello all --

After some research, I tried enabled "Optimize CSS Files" in the
Performance section of Drupal 6. Apparently that aggregates all of the
stylesheets under IE
(http://john.albin.net/css/ie-stylesheets-not-loading), and solves
several IE-based CSS problems. Worked like the proverbial charm.

Thanks again to all who offered suggestions.

Two things:

1.  Don't use db_select just because you're converting a module.  You
are adding overhead that doesn't need to be there. Event the authors of
DBTNG agree with this statement. Stick to db_query unless you need to
generate SQL dynamically.

2. Change the variable prior to binding it. Don't do token replacement
at all. The idea is that the second parameter of the condition method
should be that variable that contains the array, not a token replacement
thing so if you're trying to make a wild card like, just concat like
this:

db_select('mytable', 'mt')
  ->fields('mt', array('myvar'))
  ->condition('mystring', '%' . $somrvariable . '%', LIKE)
  ->execute();

I have an existing module I'm trying to convert to DBTNG and have a
condition I need a suggestion on.

Original statement is something like
SELECT mt.myvar FROM {mytable} mt WHERE mystring LIKE '%%%s%%';

I want to change it to
db_select('mytable', 'mt')
  ->fields('mt', array('myvar'))
  ->condtion('mystring', '%:mystring%', LIKE)
  ->execute();

The problem is condition() only takes three parameters, what would you
suggest to use to replace :mystring? I'm using t() but that seems
like a misuse of it.

Hello Luca --

Thank you for the suggestion -- I attempted to force IE into 'quirks'
mode with an appropriate doctype declaration, but again, there seemed to
be no change in the rendering. I should also mention that outside of
the Front Page module, the code renders correctly in both IE and Firefox
as a stand-alone web page. validator.w3.org/ does return errors, but
I'm not sure how much is due to incorrect code and how much is due to an
odd synergy between the raw code and Drupal / Front Page, which is set
to 'themed' mode so that I can make use of the header, footer, and
blocks available from the master CTI-Flex / Zen theme.

Honestly? Suggesting Views was bad enough. Panels for this? Why not throw OG into the mix? Gross overkill.

Rearrange the fields in Manage Display and add CSS to float the two fields.

I'll say it again: CSS alone can do 75% of the customizations needed in Drupal. Don't throw modules at a CSS task.

Panels does an awesome job moving around whatever you like. You can re-write the entire node page. But, the fastest and easiest way to do this is to get into the source, find the classes for the field, and use CSS to put it wherever you want. Going into Manage Fields and moving it would help, too.

Views can definitely show things the way you want, but for showing a single node, I would say Panels is the way to go. (well, CSS is the way to go, but barring that...)

The quickest way is to re-arrange the fields in manage fields for this particular content type, so move the service image field above your body field. The longer way is to use views.

"Front Page" module - IE vs Firefox / Safari / Chrome

Hi Folks --

I'm hoping someone familiar with the 'Front Page' Drupal module can
offer a suggestion. We are using Front Page to provide a custom
formatted splash page for our library users. The problem is that code
designed to display text inside a green column next to an iframe with
Google Calendar centered between an left and right column of standard
themed blocks is rendered differently on IE (all versions) than Firefox
/ Safari / Chrome. I'm using the following initial code:

|<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>Lane Memorial Library, Hampton, NH</TITLE>
</head>
<STYLE type="text/css">
div#c1 {
float:left;
width:260px;
height:800px;
background-color:#b3e0b8;
border:2px solid #dce7d5;
color:black;
padding:10px;
}

div#c2 {
float:right;
}
|

In Firefox / Safari / Chrome text following an initial <div id="c1">
is properly contained and displayed in a green box, and the Google
Calendar is just to the right according to the div#c2 "float:right"
column designation. In IE, the green background is missing, the text
fills all available space, and the calendar winds up below the text. (I
have followed the first column code with <div style="clear:both;">)

This is an experimental site hosted on an in-house server, but I would
be happy to supply an 'outside' link for anyone kind enough to help me
find a solution.

Thanks in advance ...

Good morning Nikhil,

You might try the rules module:

http://drupal.org/project/rules

NK> Now I want to enable the *Cash On Delivery* option to a particular user
NK> role. Is there any way to do this type of modification of payments with
NK> ubercart?

You are likely to get better help with this at ubercart.org/forum
since that is where they do support.
