    <description>&lt;pre&gt;Hi all,

On the PharoConf I demonstrated the work I did for Friedrich Dominicus (Q Software) in Magritte, adding some dynamic stuff (i.e. dynamic columns, groups that can collapse, automatic values). As announced, he will make this open source, and I will clean up code, make more tests, a demo project and some documentation to make it more useable.

I added a project QCMagritte on smalltalk hub. I will announce when there is significant progress.

Cheers,
Diego

    <link>http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.smalltalk.smallwiki/5562</link>
    <description>&lt;pre&gt;Dear Pharo and Ubuntu users,

Nicolas Petton and I are proud to announce Ubuntu packages for the
Pharo VM. Installing the pharo vm is now just a matter of:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cassou/pharo
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pharo-vm

With this package, you get:

- the latest pharo vm as a 'pharo' binary in the PATH
- all plugins and libraries (native boost, freetype, ssl, ...)
- file association so you can just double-click on pharo images
- pharo icons visible everywhere (on image files, on ALT+TAB...)
- PharoV10.sources and PharoV20.sources

Please fill bug reports on https://pharo.fogbugz.com.

This package is currently only available for Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal.
Fill a bug report if you want me to package it for another version of
Ubuntu.

Agree, and Gutemberg depends on this exporter (i.e., GULaTeXWriter depends
on BOLaTeXWriter). Some differences:

- Gutemberg provides a notion of style, a class hierarchy that gives the
user the possibility to decide about some details of the generated LaTeX
(e.g., the header and footer)
 - Gutemberg provides HTML generation (with numbering of sections, anchors,
references to figures and scripts...)

Pier are all different products and the only hard requirement is that Pier
depens on Magritte, everything else is optional.

Yes, I think SmalltalkHub is now the right place for it.

 &amp;gt; I will create a MagritteAndPier team.

MagritteAndPier sounds awkward. Can it just be Pier, and Magritte could
be split off later, if needed.

Or, maybe there should be a separate Magritte project. I think there is
some MongoDB package that uses Magritte, called Voyage.
