Bingo! I got it! Well you guys got it for me. I dug out some old DSDDs which were hiding in the dusty corner of my computer desk (I didn't even know I had them anymore). Transfered over DOS100.CO and DOS100.BA. Bada Bing Bada Boom formatted the disk and off we go, a working TPDD drive. I thank you all for helping me out on this. Now I have one other question which ROM should I buy so I can properly use my drive. TS-DOS vs Ultimate Rom. I'm leaning toward the Ultimate ROM myself because other utilities (which I guess I just answered my question). You should use the 720K size floppy, not the HD type. (No extra square hole on the opposite corner from the write protect.) Is your floppy formatted for the TPDD? If not, you have to format it first. Well I have made some progress. Using Ron's guide which Rick provided the link too. I was able to successfully able to get the TPDD to spit out the correct code ( q{ ). So after that, I tried TEENY again. The motor that drives the belt that spins the just doesn't spin and no indicator lights come on. So I see the motor is labeled 6VDC. I figure I would see if the motor is burnt out and hook up a 6 volt source to the motor. It didn't seem to spin, but I gave TEENY a 2nd shot to see. Success (sorta)! Now when I prompt TEENY to save a file off the 102 the plater spins and the read/write LED comes on. With the cover off I can see the head move back and forth just a couple of millimeter or so. But then I get the FF error. Which means if I'm correct that the file can not be found on the 102. When I hook the 102 to my linux box running dlplus I can save and load files no problem. I'm either doing something wrong or my TPDD is off to a better place where all TRSs go when they die. Does it matter what type of floppy I use? Thanks again everyone for you help. In there you will find the archive for Lapdos II. This was THE BEST!!!!! way to transfer files until the DOS world became the Windows world. For years I searched for the source code so that this "best way" could be brought up to date. Do to not being able to get the source code, I started promoting the use of Desklink and TS-DOS and then Ron created TEENY and the rest is history, i.e., a totally free-to-use file transfer system. Oh man, are we talking ancient history or what? Within a short while, Tandy replaced the TPDD with the TPDD2 and Traveling Software upgraded Lapdos to Lapdos II to not only accommodate the two menu structure of a TPDD2 but they added a null-modem cable and a little program called LOADER.EXE -- included on the Lapdos II diskette. Via loader you would pipe a "emulation" program into your Model 100, 102 or 200 that, when running, made the Model "T" look like a TPDD to Lapdos II running on the PC. The program on the Model "T" was named LAPDOS.BA. So ... the big question is ... if you connect two Model "T"s together, one running LAPDOS.BA on one of the Model "T"s and a dos on the other, such as floppy.co or teeny.co or ts-dos.co or ROMware, will the one running lapdos.ba look like a tpdd to the other? Hi Van! But then, I have to wonder why Ron is on about this then. He must have some way to use those slots. I'm guessing something like Steve was saying where you can poke something to the system variables to make it start using the low slots. The concern would be the OS having hard coded where the free slots begin or on what events it reinitializes the pointers. All speculation at this point...

Brother FB-100. It is compatible with a TPDD-1 locked at 9600baud. Brother knitting machines use it in sector-access mode. I've done some reverse engineering on the data format but I haven't looked at it in a while.
