MCC - Introduction of new councillors to council environment by qwazix.

Call for Chair of HFC & MCC - chemist is assigned chair for both in this term

MCC - Issues with midgard need to be resolved by more manpower with actual
knowledge of midgard1 and 2 and test migration possibilities.

HFC - Defining Membership + Election criteria and merging into MCC will be this
term's interest.

HFC - As HiFo has no longer an assigned treasurer; SD69 was asked to resolve the
issues with not being able to access the HiFo bank accounts and that former
treasurer gets his access revoked.
        Only director with access is SD69, which is not a good idea as a
4-eyes-principal coverage should be installed.

 HFC - HiFo BoD Electorate Proposal[0] has been voted on 4 yes, 0 no,
1 did not vote
        "Who is OK with the current proposal and agrees to start
                  elections 14 days after it being published to the community?"
        BoD elections will start 14 days from it being published

 Hildon Foundation Board of Directors Election Process

 1. Nominations will be accepted 2 weeks before the election begins from any
 community member with a karma of 100 or above.
        1.1. Nominees with a commercial interest in Maemo or Hildon
 Foundation, such as working for Nokia - or any other company involved with
 software development - must declare their interest when advertising their
 nomination. Failure to do so may result in the HFC, declaring their nomination
 invalid and so bar them from standing in the current election.

 2. Elections last for 1 week.

 3. Only community members who have had maemo.org accounts for over 3
 months and have karma of 10 or above, may vote.

 4. Each community member eligible to vote gets a single ballot.

 5. The 7 nominees voted for most, as counted by a single transferrable
 vote system are elected. (For special cases see HiFo bylaws.)

 6. There is no limit to the number of times a board member can stand for
 re-election.

I would first like to thank everybody that voted in the recent barrage
of elections. Since you seem to enjoy voting we plan to host a few

I am very happy to be able to serve maemo for another term, and I am
even happier to have the opportunity to collaborate with people that

keep maemo alive and kicking. I firmly believe that all of us will do
whatever possible (and even more) to help this community prosper, now
that the hardest part is behind us. The formal hand-off will occur at
the Council meeting, Friday at 18:00 UTC on #maemo-meeting (on
IRC/freenode).

Remember, the position of Council member is completely voluntary and
unpaid. Both councils are serving you, the Maemo Community, in their
free time, out of a passion for what Maemo is and means, and of
course, of what it can become.

Once again, thank you all for the ongoing support. This Council only
exists because of you.

after choosing your selection you get a confirmation screen after clicking "ok" 
(or "apply", "next", whatever). Only when you confirm *again* you place your 
vote. Until then you can abort and restart from beginning any time. Hope that 
helps. There's no way to revert your vote, once it been committed, so we also 
can't issue a token replacement.

Hi,

 

I screwed up my voting on the MCC election by clicking the next button when
I should have clicked on the names of the people I wanted-so it thinks my
vote was for "none of the nominated" which is not my intention.  Is it
possible to change this now, or am I screwed?  I haven't voted in the HFC
yet until I get this sorted out.

Nomination acceptance

I am honoured to be nominated for the Maemo Community Council and Hildon
Foundation Council and I accept the nomination.

The reason that I do accept despite that I have recently said otherwise is
because I feel that a vote with many candidates is needed to provide
legitimacy to the elected council to take the actions required.

My goal for the next term is to minimize the needless bureaucracy that has
made our life difficult the last few months and part of this effort is the
combination of the two bodies MCC/HFC into one, as I firmly believe there
is no need for two different councils. I will appreciate if you show
everybody that this is the community's will by voting identically for both
bodies.

Lastly I'd like to point out clearly that I don't believe there is an old
school maemo camp nor a harmattan camp here, and I have tried to prove this
by sharing my development efforts almost equally to both platforms. There
are fremantle users and harmattan users and I am proudly both.

More than anything, I believe I speak on behalf of every candidate, WE WANT
TO TO VOTE regardless of who you're voting for.

Thanks. I would love to run, to try and get the community I've invested so
much in get back on track; focused on clear, achievable goals.

Unfortunately, with my current workload and a secondment to California, I
won't have the time. Iwill  endeavour to support the community any way I
can, wheher it's hosting MWKN or providing any advice or opinion requested.

FWIW, many of the folks standing - including chemist, woody and Joerg
- have my support. I'd also encourage Ryan/GeneralAntilles to accept the
nomination.
