<pre>Hi Benjamin,

Does this mean that it is no longer true, as stated on that page, that
all of the feature strings listed there must be at least recognised by
an implementation?

I've been taking a look at the Quaax PHPTMAPI implementation, as being
slightly closer to Python than Java - between the tests in the TMAPI
distribution, the TMDM, the API docs, and this implementation, I think
I've got everything covered.

I've noticed that some parts of the API are missing full test coverage
of their expected behaviour. Would it be useful to send through a list
of these? I've written Python tests for a couple of these gaps, which I
could easily convert to Java code if that would be helpful.

Given that TMQL is, as you say, still in flux, I'm going to stick with
TMAPI for a while yet. My implementation is also mostly complete, as far
as the core goes.

it's a blessed feature which should really be documented better.
Most engines default to "true" here for performance reasons.

For the record:

Please note that only those which start with

PS: You may want to look at PHPTMAPI
(http://phptmapi.sourceforge.net/). It received an update recently and
may be better documented - I didn't check.

<pre>Hi Sven,

Yes, all %HH escape sequences are replaced by the characters they
represent.

toExternalForm() returns the IRI with %HH escape sequences.

I don't know what you mean by "saving the reference". It makes sense
to create the "reference" as early as possible since getReference() is
used to check Locator objects for equivalence.

"http://example.org/~user".equals("http://example.org/%7euser") = true
"http://example.org/~user".equals("http://example.org/%7Euser") = true

[...]

I don't know to which topic map reader you're referring to. If you
read an XTM/CTM source, all IRIs should be URL-encoded.

Lars

<pre>Hi,

we have a problem with the locator specification of TMAPI.

What does the getReference method mean, should it returns the given
string reference of the locator without any escaped characters? If the
constructor of Locator is called by an escaped references, like by using
the topic map reader classes, should it be decoded before saving the
reference or not?

The problem is that the JUnit test expects the behaviour of accepting a
unescaped whitespace for example as reference of the locator object. The
topic map reader will throw an expection if the locator contained by a
topic block has unescaped whitespaces. Because of that the constructor
of locator will be called by unescaped and escaped IRI, which is very
confusing. What is the expected behaviour?

And this week neither, sorry. I am overloaded with other things and
TMAPI &amp; co. has currently the lowest priority.

I like to point out that we have a working OSGi solution, though. Not

I've seen that you attend TMRA. Maybe you can contact someone from the
