SRSS 5.4 on CentOS6.4 Issues

<pre>Hi all,

I have been trying to install SRSS 5.4 on CentOS 6.4 for quite a while.

These are the major steps I have taken until now:

. Patch and update system to latest kernel

. Add Oracle Linux 6 repository

. Replace gdm with gdm-multiseat

. Download and unpack SRSS 5.4

. Install Apache Tomcat and JRE provided in package

. Install SRSS 5.4

. Make a couple of changes to the scripts to get everything running

I should mention that we are using mostly SunRay 1 and 1G clients. I have
done the same installation on Solaris 11 SPARC and it went fine.

My configuration - ./utadm -l:

[root&lt; at &gt;coe30 sbin]# ./utadm -l

<pre>Hello everyone,
I am trying to get working "3M Microtouch Cleartek USB touchscreen" with
SunRay clients connected to windows (7 or XP). I am using latest windows
connector which was packaged with SunRay Server 5.4. I have installed
touchscreen driver for windows and it works when directly connected to the
computer. I have read somewhere that you need to install touchscreen driver
to Solaris, which seems odd to me when I need just to redirect its output
to windows machine - but there is no driver for Oracle Solaris.

I have (maybe) found one interesting thing for everyone who would want to
use USB touchscreens at
http://docs.oracle.com/html/E22661_15/Windows-USB-Device-Redirection.html
-&gt; "Human Interface Devices (HID) such as keyboards and mice do not use the
USB redirection component"
Touchscreen is presented as HID - does that mean that I need to force the
redirection?

My questions are:
- Is it true that there is no way to use touchscreens with SunRays?
- (If there is a way) How should I redirect its inpu</pre>

you have append the argument -r usb:on then it works.

HI LIst

i have an existing sunray server on solaris 10(1/3). SRS version is 5.4 .
My current work mode is Kiosk mode to windows terminal server. and it's
working fine.

the kiosk argument i have given like below:

Arguments: -m -r sdcard:on 192.168.2.10

I connected one IDBridge externel USB smart card reader on DTU 270. But
the problem is when i connect a USB drive to my Sun ray dtu, it's not
detecting.

how can i create a policy with both usb and sdcard on..?

thanks &amp; Regards,

Could you give some examples of what we'd see if we enabled DTU logging?

First step, if you know the server they are getting dropped from, run dmesg. Look for any NICs going up or down.

Another thing I like to do is enable some of the DTU logging features, but it's important to set the log host to a Sun Ray server that you're not experiencing connectivity problems to.

You do this by setting the following key/value pairs in your parms file

LogNet=7
LogHost=hostname or IP of Sun Ray server

The value of the logging levels are 1 through 7. Larger number = Greater Verbosity.

<pre>Simon,

I've run into this a few times also but have never found a definitive way of solving it. On one occasion, I had to reboot several times to get the error to stop. Another time, Sun suggested increasing the # of utauthd threads from the default [4?] to 8. One time there was a suspected network problem which may have caused all sessions on SRS1 to simultaneously migrate to SRS2. Other times, the problem has gone away by itself.

Sorry I don't have a concrete solution.

direct session access, and it does not work, please open a support

<pre>No, I've been doing this for a few days tracing out the lock-screen
issue. The lock screen you speak of, I'd guess that you're speaking of
NSCM? You've killed your session, there shouldn't be one left.

Can you disable mobile sessions under non-card policy? What is your
current policy?

You can search these error messages and probably find a solution in the
Oracle Forums.

<pre>We also noticed the issue with screensaver not activating after a timeout.
We ended up installing a packages 'xautolock' which seemed to work.

<pre>If you can lookup the bug id there are various workarounds published, but we've covered the main ones in this thread already.

<pre>That works too.

I'll create a case and reference the bug id. Looking forward to
