Does anyone know how to configure the dhcp client to get wpad (Web Proxy
Auto-Discovery Protocol) info from a M$ dhcp server?

You need to have a T-2000 or higher system to use LDOM. The reason is T-1000 does not have a hpervisor in it.

kk.  I used to build qemu on sparc on S10 back on a V490 with 1.8Ghz CPUs.
Performance was abysmal for a WinXP image.  I can't even imagine an
anemic T1000 trying to run anything like windows in Qemu.  Remember, the
cpu on that box is, for intensive purposes, a 400Mhz CPU.

LDOM with Windows Server

I know we are an X86 group, but one of you guys might know the answer so I

I have a client with a SPARC T-1000 running Solaris 10 and having trouble
getting any kind of information or warm fuzzies from Oracle.  The machine is

Anyway, this client is as dubious of Oracle as they were faithful to Sun and
is asking me to figure out a way.  I hate to even type this. to install
Windows Server on the T-1000 in place of Solaris 10.  They insist that
anything is easier and cheaper than trying to migrate to the new Oracle
Solaris and they can't get the updates form Solaris 10 for some reason.  I
am wondering if any of you guys are in a situation where you have installed
Windows on a SPARC machine (perhaps with the QEMU emulator running in an
LDOM)?

 

Is there any way to work this out tha

Actually I've been following this for a while.  That version has been compiled on an earlier version of Solaris (I believe 10) without CUPS.  So printing is kind of crude.  I've managed for myself to compile it on Solaris 11 with CUPS, so it can be done.

I've now been using it for approximately 6 weeks with no problems.

A hot machine you could bake a loaf of bread before it finished closing the days books. I think it was IBM hardware also.  I agree with Hurd that going after IBM business customers is the correct strategy to do. In fact Oracle has a great line of business software products to compete with. I just find it odd that Oracle is concentrating on gaining market share in the Android market right now.
