several older audio drivers that have not been tested.  we are
looking for testers for this driver:

all you need to do is build or install a recent -current snapshot
(the ones with this are probably not available, but should be
with in the next day or two.)

Actually, I have been getting SIG11 for already some time and I just started 
dig around exec_elf(32).c as it seems that there is a problem to read init 
and start it.

BTW, is your /dev populated. You need at least console and null there.

Boot hangs with -current (Workpad z50)

Trying to boot -current (of Sept 8) on a Workpad z50.  The last message on
the console:

pid 1(init): ABI set to O32 (e_flags=0x1007)

after which the system hangs.

Is this expected?

Please check "serial port on" checks on pbsdboot menu.
and you will find com0 on dmesg.

You should post the dmesg. If you built a custom kernel, you should
post the config for it as well.

You might need to uncomment something related to serial ports and
build a kernel to get the serial port.

I have a mobilepro 770 which has a functioning serial port (at least
it works in Windows CE).  I have NetBSD 5.0.2 hpcmips installed on it.
 I am interested in using the serial port to control relays on a robot
but can't seem to get the serial port configured.

I looked it /etc/ttys and noticed this file is abbreviated in hpcmips
when compared to i386.

I ran dmesg and didn't see anything that looked like the serial port.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since m68k, VAX, mips, and StrongARM are slightly more modest CPUs than 
PowerPC, i386, amd64, and other faster processors, I've been incrementally 
uploading the results of a buld package build rather than wait for the 
very end (which could be up to a year from now).

In ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/pkgsrc/packages/NetBSD, you'll find:

vax/5.1_2010Q3/   262 packages
m68k/5.1_2010Q3/   1398 packages
mipsel/5.1_2010Q3/   1944 packages
arm/5.1_2010Q3/   3425 packages

Note that in the interest of expediency some of these packages may be left 
over from a previous tag, but all were built with 5.1 (5.1_RC3, 5.1, or 
5.1_STABLE).

Date time problem on SigmarionII

Hi,

  I just installed NetBSD 5.0.2 on a Sigmarion II, almost everything
worked well except for a date time problem: every time I woke the
machine back from sleep, I got following warning messages:

  WARNING: preposterous TOD clock time
  WARNING: using filesystem time
  WARNING: CHECK AND RESET THE DATE!

  After that system date time was also incorrect(lacked behind current
date time), does anyone know why this happens? I googled for this
problem but didn't got too much help, could someone point me to some
helpful info? It's really annoy to set correct date time again and
again.

test something.

I just upgraded it to 5.1 RC3 last night (after not using it for
months) and this worked, but I did not start X. Which X is used at
this level?

Well, how many such active users do we have nowadays?

It's a bit pain to build and upload three sets of
full release binaries for such unlikely users.
Once we switch it in bsd.own.mk all necessary binaries
will appear on daily build: http://releng.NetBSD.org/

AFAIK, XFree86 based servers have been broken for long years
(PR port-hpcmips/32403 filed in 3.0 days, for example)
so there is no reason to stick X11FLAVOUR=XFree86
unless there is known serious issue on Xorg flavour.

If you really want to test Xorg binaries, you can always build them by
% env X11FLAVOUR=Xorg sh build.sh -m hpcmips -U -x release
etc. using -current sources and xorg.conf example attached in
my previous post.
