I was initially using the released binaries to boot and start installation but have since used binaries that I built from source and encountered similar problems. Booting seems to work fine once I patched the boot32 module to run without calling OS_ReadSysInfo - this seems to be unavailable on RISC OS 3.71. Installation seems to work until filing systems are being created. disklabel is run successfully but newfs either crashes or hangs. I've been trying to get an up to date current kernel running on my acorn32 system for the last week. I've found and fixed a couple of problems that stop the kernel booting on my system but there is still something causing random panics in the networking code after a few minutes. Shouldn't stop me testing that the audio driver code though. Kernel boots up just fine and audioplay plays audio. I do see some video glitches when playing audio but I don't think that has been introduced by your audio driver changes as I'm pretty sure my older current kernel also exhibits the same behaviour. However observing the system using systat vmstat while building perl things seem normal with occasional bursts of paging when the free memory gets low but no paging activity most of the time.
