<pre>Hello all,

The MediaWiki release management Request for Proposals (RFP)[0] open
submission period has now ended[1], now on to the fun part, feedback!

= The Submissions =
We have two great submissions:
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Release_Management_RFP/NicheWork_and_Hallo_Welt!
and
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Release_Management_RFP/EIJL

= Feedback / Review =
Now begins the two weeks of community feedback. Please review and leave
questions/comments on the submissions. Your feedback is what will make
this RFP process successful.

On each submission there is space at the bottom for you to ask
questions/provide feedback publicly, or you can use the Talk: page.

Addtionally: You can provide private feedback directly to either myself
or Robla (robla&lt; at &gt;wikimedia.org) if desired.

= Office Hours =
Next week we will have a IRC "office hour" with myself and Rob Lanphier
and the parties who submitted proposals. This is a time for
anyone/everyone to ask questions in real time from both the RFP
submitters and of</pre>

Hi folks,

Many of us met at the Amsterdam Hackathon to discuss architecture
guidelines (almost everyone with +2 in MediaWiki core, plus other
knowledgeable people), and generally about the need to have more
substantive conversations about MediaWiki architecture. It was a
really productive discussion, and had a number of outcomes:

1. RFC review: we agreed that RFCs need more diligent review. Brion
and Tim are planning to pull together the architects for regular

<pre>I have to delay the release of MediaWiki 1.21 again because of a
logistics problem.

I am used to hearing logistics in the context of shipping physical
objects -- in the American trucking industry, for example -- so I can't
help but feel a little strange saying "logistics". I had to go look up
the term and found this definition:

The detailed coordination of a complex operation involving many
    people, facilities, or supplies.

That is about right.

I apologize for the confusion.

Yury, thanks for bringing this up. This spurred me to contact the
person who is running the site. I think there is a lot of potential
there.

<pre>Hi!

Have you seen wikiapiary project? [1] Personally I'm fascinated by the
statistics of the extensions, and skins. For example here is the stats for
Semantic MediaWiki:
http://wikiapiary.com/wiki/Extension:Semantic%20MediaWiki
You can see the website where the extension is installed and the version
information.

Wikiapiary is quite new and I think is open to ideas. For example I think
it would be nice to allow people to judge the extensions by several
criteria. Maybe also add some code statistics will also be useful.

Please post your ideas here.

emails in html or in nicely formatted plaintext?

<pre>Hi everyone!

Is there a way to configure email notifications and emails so that the
users of the wiki receive emails in html format? Or in text format
without wiki-markup. I haven't found any extension that can do that.

Cheers,
