Due to over $2 million in government grants we are currently in the process of building four new buildings: a large gym / performing arts building, new administration and staff room building, library and tuck shop (canteen), plus two new classrooms. We're also able to add two new large play areas and a basket ball court, a vegetable garden, a new music space, and a parking lot. We're upgrading some existing buildings as well, so we'll be able to double our early childhood classes (2 1/2 and 3 1/2 year olds) as there is increased demand for these. During this year also, we continued our growth as a leading school in sustainability, as we installed 20 solar panels (from a grant), and put in four new water tanks (as all of our drinking water comes from the roofs, and our waste water is processed through sand filtration on site. The baby naming of Shivanii and Dharmendra's son, Yash, was a sweet and inspiring event, accompanied by beautiful food and company at their home in the Gold Coast. Later in August, we had a large gathering in Maleny for the revolutionary marriage of Anadi (New York) and Satya (Melbourne.) The Brisbane and Maleny units really worked hard to plan a beautiful event, which was held by a lake in Maleny on a perfectly sunny day. It was a heart-touching and inspiring event with Margiis and non-Margiis attending from all around Australia (and the world!) Inspiring Pracar Pracar continues on nicely in Maleny, Stanthorpe and Brisbane. In Maleny, Didi Ananda Tapomaya taught a four-week Yoga Teachers' Training Course, held on Saturdays for three hours. A Beautiful Weekend Last weekend we had a one day retreat at the jagriti. To our surprise, nearly 40 people attended! It was a great day, from 9 to 5, including yoga class, Heart Circle and a talk on yoga philosophy of the mind, plus a beautiful vegetarian lunch. Everyone seemed very inspired, including several very new people, and some recent initiates. One sister met Dada Krsnapremananda on the train when he was coming from Sydney. She is from Canada, and decided to make a detour in her Australia tour to attend the seminar. She loved it and took initiation. Two others took initiation on the weekend, and two more are booked for later in the week. Because ten Margiis and acharyas came from outside the unit, we also had DC and collective dinner Saturday night after the seminar and then had a blissful three hour Akhanda Kiirtan on Sunday morning!
