ARIN IPv6 Wiki Relaunched

Six years ago, ARIN established a wiki solely focused on offering a
forum where our community could collect or provide timely and usable
information about IPv6, from basic education through planning
deployments and implementing on networks. In that time both ARIN staff
and members of the ARIN and global Internet community have made
contributions to the content of the site. Today we are happy to announce
a significant enhancement to this offering. While the URL
http://getipv6.info and much of the content remains the same, the system
behind the website has been totally revamped. Here are some of the new
features/changes you can look forward to taking advantage of:

* More intuitive editing of documents -- wiki markup skills are no
longer required
* Hierarchical organization of pages allowing information to be
organized logically and consistently
* Ability to create pages with rich, dynamic content and use of dozens
of macros
* Easy to use tools for the creation of flowcharts and diagrams
* Mobile-friendly desi

Dear colleagues,

The RIPE NCC Survey 2013 is now online. You can take the survey at:

https://www.ripe.net/survey2013

There are no limits on who can take the survey. All interested parties
globally are asked to participate.

We ask that you take this very important survey for the RIPE NCC and the
Internet community, and that you encourage your colleagues and contacts
to participate.

This survey will allow us to assess our services and activities,
identify areas for improvement, and help shape our strategy for the
coming years.

The survey is carried out by the Oxford Internet Institute (OII), which
guarantees anonymity for participants and independent assessment of
results. It will remain open until 24 June 2013. The results will be
presented at the RIPE 67 Meeting in Athens.

The survey conducted in 2011 by the OII provided us with 52 key findings
that the RIPE NCC was able to act on, and we hope this survey will
provide similarly useful feedback.

This is your chance to let the RIPE NCC know exactly wha

Maintenance Work Scheduled for Monday, 6 May

On Monday, 6 May 2013 ARIN will be conducting maintenance. The work will
take place from 7:00 PM until approximately 11:00 PM EDT. ARIN users
will experience interruption of three external services while
this maintenance is performed.

For the duration, you will not be able to log in to your ARIN Online
account. Any mail sent to Registration Services will be queued and not
immediately acknowledged. Additionally, transactions submitted via
ARIN's RESTful Provisioning service will be rejected with an outage
error. Once the systems are back online, you will regain use of your
ARIN Online account and queued mail will be processed. You will need to
resubmit any RESTful calls sent during the outage so they can be processed.

All other publicly available services (Whois, IRR, DNS, etc.) will be
available during this outage.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Regards,

Mark Kosters
Chief Technical Officer
American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN)

RIRs Submit Remarks to ITU WTPF-13

On 29 April 2013, the RIPE NCC formally submitted a document to the ITU
Secretariat on behalf of the five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs). The
document addresses a range of issues that will be discussed at the
upcoming ITU World Telecommunication/ICT Policy Forum 2013 (WTPF-13). The
document is available on the NRO website at:
http://www.nro.net/news/rir-wtpf-13

The document addresses some of the opinions discussed by the Informal
Expert Group (IEG) that was convened in preparation for the WTPF-13. It
includes an annex outlining the efforts of the five RIRs to support the
deployment of IPv6 and IPv6 capacity building.

ARIN, along with representatives of the other four RIRs, will be present
at WTPF-13. We welcome the community's feedback on any of the points
raised in this document. Your comments and questions can be directed to
Cathy Handley, Executive Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy,

Passing of Bob Stratton

It is with great sadness that ARIN informs the community of the death of
Robert Stratton, ARIN's Chief Financial Officer. Bob passed on Monday,
29 April 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 55 years
young.

Bob joined ARIN in March of 1998 when ARIN was only 20 employees. ARIN
President and CEO John Curran said, "Bob was a key contributor to the
success of ARIN through his dedication and tireless efforts. Bob's
financial acumen and intellect were a rare combination indeed, and his
enduring smile lifted the spirits of everyone who had the pleasure of
working with him."

We will all miss Bob's inquisitive mind, compassion, sense of humor and
sharing of Civil War history and financial articles. We have lost a
dearly beloved ARIN family member and friend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob's family; wife Deborah and
daughter Julianne, of whom Bob was immensely proud. Expressions of
sympathy may be sent to info-VVaJSnPt7Kc< at >public.gmane.org, and we will forward them on to
Bob's fami
