Well, the message sounds like that directory is expecting links as 
Feedburner (http://feedburner.google.com/) URLs only.

Feedburner refuses to burn this address, claiming that the service 
received an HTTP error 400 Bad request when accessing the site, both 
with the URL you mentioned and the actual feed location 
https://findfranchisepartners.com/blog/?feed=rss2.

I don't see any problems with that feed. It successfully passes the RSS Validator on rssboard.org. Perhaps the blog directory is having a problem with the question mark in the URL.

I'm trying to ad my blog to a blog directory, the RSS feed for which is:

http://findfranchisepartners.com/blog/?feed=rss2

but I'm getting an error message that says:

"Please enter feedburner URL in valid format."

I entered the above feed in feedvalidator.org and they say it's a good feed.

What gives?

RSS icon a failure? My response to this problem

I too have been concerned about the 'illiteracy' regarding the RSS icon.
The graphic is cool but it says nothing. For years I've been publishing
RSS feeds, and developed an RSS feed publishing system, and find that
many people just don't get it regarding that icon. There seems to be
mistrust as to what will happen when one clicks that icon.
So I made a decision to extend upon the standard in a way that I believe
will help people understand the icon when used for certain purposes.
Early feedback has been positive.
To be clear, I continue to include the the standard icon in code
snippets for feeds published through Enfeedia <http://www.enfeedia.com/>
. In fact, I'm rather strict about the link for the icon being the XML
file, not some webpage that discusses RSS and then offers more icons
that finally link to the XML file.
I created a series of icons that are, in a sense, a concatenation of the
standard icon plus a descriptor extension that explains what that
particular version of the icon links to. For example

Not at all.  I see variations on the classic icon on numerous individual sites that advertise their own feed.  I think Mozilla is making a small mistake to abandon this iconic icon.

Extending the mrss specification for compound podcasts

I'm the creator of a monthly podcast playing a chart show of Creative
Commons licensed tracks. I'd like to be able to more accurately
describe the content of the podcast, and I initially considered using
the media:scene elements of the MRSS spec, but I need to tailor the
contents slightly to provide more specific details.

As such, I've started to draw up some modifications, it's not a formal
spec, and certainly isn't anywhere near writing up as an amendment or
replacement for MRSS, but I'd like to see what people's opinions are
of the proposed amendments.

(allowing some degree of differentiation between the MRSS and MRSS+

If the change is significant enough to warrant alerting others as to the change (and I don't think a typo rises to that level), then repost it as new with your edits made. If you are using Enfeedia.com to publish your news feed, simply select "Re-Post as New" after selecting your feed.

Although FB uses the term "feed" for the postings that appear in your account, it's not an RSS feed at all. And FB doesn't want you to "take that feed elsewhere", they want you to bring your friends to your feed on FB ... and they hope your encouragement to them will drive non-members of FB to get sign up ... viral growth and all that. 

Here's a better way. Post you item on an RSS feed separate from FB, then post your items from that feed to FB by 'sharing' it to your account. Each time you post a new item on your feed, "share" it on FB and you will get ongoing attention. 

If you use Enfeedia.com to publish your RSS feed, each item will include a facebook "share" button (as well as a LinkedIn "share" button and a StumbleUpon "recommendation" button). Simply click that FB share button and you can easily post the item to your FB account. You are also given an opportunity to post a comment about the item, so, for example, besides your FB friends seeing the item you are sharing, they will also see your comment

It does not have to end in .xml. Thje content-type should be the right one. On my website, the same url can output json, html, xml and yaml

Mozilla is removing the orange RSS icon from the Address bar in Firefox and replacing it with a Bookmarks menu item called "Subscribe," as described in this blog post:

Here's Mozilla developer Asa Dotzler's take on why this is good:

"The UI, as it was  a tiny orange button in the addressbar wasn't helping users use the feature so it was removed. Better UI, a menu item with a real description of what RSS does, 'subscribe' replaced it. That's a positive step, not a negative one. Though it may be encountered by fewer users, it will make much more sense to those who do encounter it."

Although I like the RSS icon and look for it all the time on sites, I'm wondering whether it's too wonky to further broader mainstream usage of feeds. It's a good visual identifier for RSS but may not help convey what feeds are or why users should subscribe to them.

Do you think the icon has been a failure?

That warning just means that the Feed Validator doesn't recognize the namespace (which looks like something for Adobe Media Player). It's OK to disregard that. The Adobe namespace features will be ignored in any software that doesn't support them. All other aspects of the feed are formatted properly.

Could you post the URL of the feed? I'd like to learn more about that namespace.

Google Isn't Trying to Screw RSS

There's a blog post up on Dave Winer's Scripting News today that suggests Google is playing dirty with RSS in a new real-time indexing feature that may use PubSubHubbub (PuSH).

This post appears to be based on the mistaken notion that PuSH doesn't work with RSS.

Your help getting the word out would be appreciated. There's some misinformation out there that makes some people believe PuSH is for Atom publishers and RSSCloud is for RSS. That's not the case at all.

How to implement recommedation

From the Feed Validator, which indicates if I've exceeded the max number of characters in my ITunes feed, I recieved the following:

This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.

line 3, column 0: Use of unknown namespace: http://www.adobe.com/amp/1.0 [help]

Currently line 3 reads: <rss version="2.0".  I have no access to the code to  make the change.  Any suggestions?

Error 404 URi

I have been fighting with Feedburner for the past 4 hours and I cannot clear their data from my blog.  I keep getting a error 404 relating to URI being striped from my template.  I have viewed several help groups and even when onto the oracle site for help with java as it relates to this whole problem.  Bottom line,  Feedburner needs to release old data from URL's and it's not.   I cannot get beyond this issue
