<pre>Dear all,

We are pleased to announce the release of GNUnet 0.9.5. This release
focuses on fixing various bugs, but also includes for the first time
non-anonymous multi-hope file transfers using the stream and mesh
subsystems that were refined in the previous versions. We also improved
some performance aspects and improved the graphical user interfaces (in
particular gnunet-setup and gnunet-fs-gtk). As far as we know, this
release is fully protocol-compatible with GNUnet 0.9.4.

About GNUnet
============

GNUnet is a framework for secure peer-to-peer networking. GNUnet's
primary design goals are to protect the privacy of its users and to
guard itself against attacks or abuse. At this point, GNUnet offers two
primary applications on top of the framework:

The file-sharing service allows anonymous censorship-resistant
file-sharing. Files, searches and search results are encrypted to make
it hard to control, track or censor users. GNUnet's anonymity protocol

<pre>Dear all,

We are pleased to announce the release of GNUnet 0.9.2. This release
brings a major rewrite of the VPN subsystem, resulting in significant
performance and stability improvements. The release also includes a new
linear programming... based automatic transport selection mechanism. The
release fixes various bugs and brings various API extensions and other
minor improvements. Except for the VPN subsystem, this release is
protocol-compatible with GNUnet 0.9.1.

GNUnet 0.8.x webpage to go offline

<pre>Dear all,

I just wanted to briefly announce that the GNUnet webpage for 0.8.x (currently
available at old.gnunet.org and v8.gnunet.org) will go offline for good in a few
weeks (if you want to mirror it, this would be the time...).

This includes the GNUnet 0.8.x hostlist at "http://v8.gnunet.org/hostlist".
There are still currently two other GNUnet 0.8.x hostlists in operation:

http://mosquito.dyndns.tv/gnunet-hostlist/hostlist
http://de.gnunet.org/hostlist-080

The GNUnet website for the upcoming GNUnet 0.9.x will of course stay up at
https://gnunet.org/.

Finally, I would like to thank the University of Denver for hosting the GNUnet
0.8.x website for the last four years.

Happy hacking,

Christian

GNUnet 0.8.1 released

<pre>We are pleased to announce that GNUnet 0.8.1 has been released. This release
focuses on improving routing performance, providing improvements particularly
for non-anonymous searching and downloading but also improving the performance
of anonymous downloads. It also adds a few minor features and includes fixes
for various minor bugs and cosmetic issues.

Other noteworthy improvements
===================

* Command line tools can now be used in ways that do not leak activity
 to local users (#1467)
* gnunet-gtk can now be started minimized (#1395)
* gnunet-pseudonym now uses a more sane default priority for namespace
 advertisements (#1472)
* Fixed various HTTP transport-related crashes (#1487)

Updating
======

After installing the new version, simply run gnunet-update.
