Since it really sounds like an early Praxis live peformance (maybe the first live Praxis ever?!), this could be it.

Lineup would be: Bill Laswell, Nicky Skopelitis, Buckethead, Brain, DXT.

Wow, how could is this?

Glad you like 'Survive'. I thought it came out quite good, and it's nice to
see Hawk release a full-length finally.

The upcoming Jano release "Ertale" is tentatively due on June 26. Great
stuff. Hopefully I'll get the OK to post the artwork somewhere (on the site
or Facebook) soon - unless it happens to show up on Amazon or the like
first. Great Doze piece. Different from the original cover I saw a few
months ago.

BTW I think that Hawk's Survive is a good surprise as I thought that
recent reggae Laswell productions were'nt really exciting.
Probably because of the extremely good Sly &amp; Robbie ridims.

<pre>For anyone who ordered the Garrison Hawk vinyl - thanks for being patient.
I believe Redeye intends to have it out today as it was re-scheduled from
the date that coincided with the CD release. Manufacturing delays because
there was a lot of care put into this (i.e. high quality vinyl, not just a
thrown together release). Will be worth the wait if you're a vinyl fan.

The next release is tentatively scheduled for June 26. Jano's 'Ertale'.
Killer Ethiopian rock band recorded at the new studio in Addis Ababa. This
has been in rotation for me for months. I think it's a killer release. Part
of the planned Method Ethiopia batch of releases. Artwork by Doze Green,
which has been tweaked from the original version I saw and is even better.

<pre>Yes - sorry...even though the label is fairly closely aligned with Bill, I shouldn't assume everyone is familiar.

Stephen has it right. Bill actually lent the money that got the label started. Tons of really great stuff on the label. Skiz has a ton of other balls in the air (published cook books and such) so as a result of that and economics, the label does not release that much anymore.

which released a boxcar full of wonderful, heavy, experimental dub,
particularly in the mid- to late-nineties, by a variety of fascinating
artists (The Bug, Qaballah, Equations of Eternity w/Laswell, Dr. Israel),
including Fernando in many sound guises, including Slotek, the Ill Saint
and Scarab. A writer and critic as well. Laswell appeared on a number of
its releases - its "Crooklyn Dub" compilations might be its greatest legacy
- and I believe helped the label off the ground, too.

<pre>I can't remember if I've posted this before, so my apologies if I have
(though it certainly can't hurt to do it again...).

The new Spectre album (vinyl) is ready to go, but needs to be mastered
before it can be released. Skiz has started (actually, a while back
already) a Kickstarter funding campaign in order to get the $3,000 needed
to make that happen. In short (if you are unfamiliar), you basically pledge
to back a project. All the specifics are noted on the page. You are not
charged unless the goal is actually achieved. For a $20 you get a copy of
the record (pretty much in line with new vinyl+shipping prices). So in that
instance it's almost as if you're just paying in advance for product. Seems
like more and more people are doing this to make projects economically
viable. Check out the page, read up, and if you're into it, please donate!

Much like the details of the "This" (?) clip. Reasons/rationale unknown.

<pre>Yes, you are correct mantisaur. i have the bonnaroo show (audio) which is one of their best IMHO. there is video of the '04 Bonnaroo show (&amp; some of Vegoose i think?) but i'm not sure if it's in their entirety or not (although i'm pretty sure at one time a Bonnaroo video/dvd was in circulation). seemingly most of what BL related shows exist stay hidden - unless (&amp; except) of course when it is deemed necessary to make it known to anyone who might be interested that they exist. Much like the details of the "This" (?) clip. Reasons/rationale unknown.

this video is Praxis - Live &lt; at &gt; Bonnaroo June 11, 2004. The soundcloud snippet has some DJ sounds as well so I don&amp;#65533;t think it&amp;#65533;s the Bonnaroo show.

You can still download the entire show here:

Hmmm? I also assume that soundcloud clip might be a Praxis show from the 90ies where the band was on fire for sure.

I´d definitely would like to hear the entire thing! :)

No clue here, but I guess it sounds similar to http://dai.ly/mYmncs

Wishing those fun at the forthcoming 3 shows. Well, the one this weekend isn't actually really neighborhood even from the perspective NYC. And there's more live stuff supposed to be in the works: way to go ...

<pre>was it called "This" or no one knows what it was billed as?i guess it's just Bucket trying to do the Nicky "sounding" guitar part (from 8:02 to 9:15) on Tarab.bill's powerful &amp; upfront playing in "this" has not be heard near enough in recent years.i must say this is some of the best Praxis (if thats what it is/was) playing by i've heard. second only to the Bonnaroo show (if not better).a shame the entire show isn't in circulation.

What's relevant is, Tarab has always been a great composition and favorite of mine, and Nicky's second album was the one to feature it with this title first. Its essence, usually *that* bassline, hence recurred at places one would expect and maybe not expect, in studio productions and live performances, eventually hardly any project without one. It might sometimes take days and then - "damn, that's tarab". To m</pre>

I never heard it on any of his, Jah Wobble's, releases. This is a praxised version of the tarab, or an ecstated version of the praxis, it doesn't matter what one wants to call it, because convergence is the plan any way, and that festival had billed mainly Bill and Bill came along
with This.
