We may want to consider using FPM for generating packages vs the

Any thoughts are welcome.

Hello,

My name is Thibault RICHARD from Brussels in Belgium (I'm native French
speaker)

I'm the author of http://qmailrocks.thibs.com/

I've made this guide because I was a Qmailrocks user that needed to upgrade
several of my own installation.

As the projects seemed to be abandoned, I've just published my way of doing
based on the original qmailrocks guide. My version was only for Debian
because it's the Linux distribution I usually uses.

I currently not have time to help you actively but I'm interested to check
what you are talking about. I hope to have enough time in several months to
participate more actively. One of my final goal is to make Debian version of
Qmailtoaster.

Best Regards

Thibault a.k.a Thibs

let me clarify you the current mail flow. we host mailinglist of several
domains and our virtualdomains and users/assign file are as follows

  * virtualdomains file contents like xxx.com:xxx.com
  * users/assign have wildcard assignments something like
    +xxx.com-:sysuser:uid:gid:homedir:-::

when ezmlm injects list mails, all the subscribers of the lists
belonging to domains in virtualdomains file, get their address rewritten
as xxx.com-user< at >xxx.com because of the above files and their delivery is
tried locally via the .qmail file. The .qmail-default file will be the
file matched in the specified homedir which has |qmail-remote "$HOST"
"$SENDER" "$EXT< at >$HOST" and that is how the one MX of the domain is
reached for delivery, which had SMTP failure.

qmail-remote should indeed try to resend later given the 4xx error.

I'm a little confused by the log you posted though. The 421 error
appears to be from a remote host, yet delivery 690994 is a local
delivery message. I'm guessing that the domain in question might
erroneously be in the locals or virtualdomains file.

Hi,
We use qmail with ezmlm for mailinglist service

[root< at >xx-yyy ~]# rpm -qa|egrep '(ezmlm|qmail)'
qmail-toaster-1.03-1.3.25
ezmlm-toaster-0.53.324-1.3.3

There was postfix SMTP failure with one of the MX to which qmail tried
mail delivery and got a 4xx reply. Log says ZConnected to , but greeting
failed, server says "All ports busy". Despite this message, the delivery
was success. exact log at
http://pastie.org/private/stwlr6jmvhiljzbed0i3ag All the mail delivery
tried via the above MX is lost, but qmail log reports success with above
ZConnected message. Z means delivery deferral, if i am not wrong.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Just throwing this out here at

I don't know about anyone else, but I'll certainly find this useful. It
will be my worksheet for doing the C6 upgrade. I was loathing about
trying to find all the pieces that have been identified here an there
(but mostly by yourself). I know that you have a script, and there's one
other related to installing C6. I intend to refactor the old scripts and
include anything else that you guys have come up with.

There will no longer be separate scripts for each distro/arch. There
will be just one set of scripts, and they'll all be included in the QTP
package. Downloading of separate scripts will no longer be required.

WooHoo!

Thanks Dan, and everyone else who has blazed the trail toward C6.

Greetings Developers...

As many of you know, I've been running QMT on RHEL/COS 6 for quite some
time now... and other than some perl issues on SpamAssassin (and a
recent issue with vqadmin), I've always had the greatest of luck
building our packages on my COS6 systems. (For brevity sake, I'm only
going to refer to it as COS6 from here on in).

I consider myself VERY lucky that this has been the case, and I've
helped many a user successfully get QMT installed and running on COS6.

In any case, since the next major rev (1.5) of QMT is on the schedule
for /SOON/, I thought I'd share what I've done already.... This way, the
experiences I have had (and obstacles I have overcome) don't have to be
re-worked.

There are also a couple of issues that have NOT come up previously, that
may NEED to be resolved now.

_*Dependencies:*_
The first issue we encountered were the dependencies. I have attached
the complete list (133 of them) in a file (deps.txt) here. Along the
same lines, the default mail program in

I think we've gotten off track here. It doesn't appear to be vqadmin

I believe the problem we're trying to chase down is in the control-panel

Greetings QMT developers...

I've been off working on other things and just got back to doing some
QMT testing this morning... and am finding that vqadmin version 1.4 is
broken for 64-bit arch.
The error appears in the configure portion of the make, where in spite
of being called with a --with cnt5064 flag, the configure call is being
made with
   --host=x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
and
   --build=x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
flags that are later determined to be unsupported.

I have confirmed that the error persists on both 1.4.0 and 1.4.1

I don't know who worked on these... and I haven't checked them against a
32-bit build (is anyone still using 32-bit COS?) or against COS5 yet...
but I'm assuming this is a simple error to fix, I just don't know who to
look to to get it fixed!

Thanks to all

AFAIK, I only need to work on the control-panel toaster scripts. Apart
from removing short tags (which is trivial), I will also scan for any
code that is already/going to be deprecated as of php5.3/php 6.
VQAdmin/qmailadmin DO NOT HAVE any PHP deps. Errors that arise there
will not be solved with my changes.

I have found that VQAdmin errors are largely due to corrupted/incorrect
values in the dir_control table (such as ridiculously large numbers in
the user field.

Shouldn't be more than a couple of days to have this set of issues fixed
