We've just up setup a new djigzo virtual appliance and restore the configuration saved from previous installation.

The only change made to the original configuration was activation of new cc to replyer option.

The issue. When the reply button is pressed on the received PDF message the djigzo login page is displayed instead of the reply form.

Any idea what could be wrong in the configuration?

It makes upgrade to new releases somewhat more difficult since a local
file has changed. Also a backup won't backup this change. With the first
option, only a configuration in the database is changed. This change
will be kept when doing an upgrade or a backup/restore.

Can you let me know why would you recommend against using this method ?

Hi Varad,

The sender is set to the null sender (i.e., empty sender) since this is
an automated message. The main reason for doing this is to prevent
possible mail loops. The from of the message is then set to

postmaster< at >"My Hostname"

where "My Hostname" is set on the MTA page

If you want to change this you have two options:

1. Change the template.

For example to change the quarantine template for the global settings
click settings -> templates, select the "DLP quarantine" template,
uncheck "inherit", replace From: <${from!""}> by:

From: somefromaddress-hcDgGtZH8xNBDgjK7y7TUQ< at >public.gmane.org

2. Change the dlp.xml mail flow config.

Change the line <from> postmaster </from> to <from>
somefromaddress-hcDgGtZH8xNBDgjK7y7TUQ< at >public.gmane.org </from>

I strongly suggest you take the first option since it can be done from
the GUI.

If you want to change the sender address you can only do this by
modifying dlp.xml (see <sender> element). However I strongly advise not
to change the sender (only the

There are more changes than just Java 7 :)

I'll will work on a list of changes. A pre-release version will probably
be available somewhere at the beginning of next week. Or do you need it
sooner?

It's a question whether I should make the package depend on just Java or
on a specific version of Java. The advantage of depending on some java
runtime is that it allows you to use different java runtimes. The
problem however is that the java runtime might not be 100% compatible
with OpenJDK.

The openjdk-7-jre package in Ubuntu provides the following features:

Provides: java-runtime, java2-runtime, java5-runtime, java6-runtime,
java7-runtime

I can choose to make the packages depend on java-runtime but then in
theory Java 1 (which is ancient) can be used which does not work with
djigzo. Depending on java6-runtime is then better since this is provided
by OpenJDK6 and OpenJDK7. But, it might be that there is some other
incompatible Java version which also provides java6-runtime. That's why
I made the

Given the great stability of the pre-releases it would nice to have
one to start with ;-)
Are there any other changes beside the Java 7 compatibility?

The problem of Option 1 would be a missing *-headless package or what
kind of trouble do you suspect? Are there any other Java packages like
GNU-Java which would provide the java6-runtime dependencies or are you
concerned about Djigzo *without* Java 6 support at some day in the
future?

One "problem" with supporting OpenJDK6 and OpenJDK7 is that I need to

Currently it's:

openjdk-6-jre, openjdk-6-jre-headless

Afaik I cannot specify an either openjdk-6-jre or openjdk-7-jre

1. use java6-runtime for the depence. The openjdk-6-jre and

2. Create two meta-packages, djigzo-openjdk-6 and djigzo-openjdk-7

What I like about option 1 is that it works for all java runtimes.
However, the downside is that in principle

For what is worth, we at SIG (thanks to Martijn) have successfully deployed Djigzo as an instance (Ubuntu12.04) in our AWS VPC; our mail server (Kerio Connect, running on premises) forwards all outbound emails to the gateway which in turn filters for specific attachments and quarantine the emails that do not pass; then sending a notification to the sender. It's our cost-effective DLP system (and it will be expanded to included S/MIME encryption soon). If someone wants some tips, I can share our setup here.

For those who are interested,
the Djigzo VMware virtual appliance can be easily converted and installed under Proxmox virtual environment (KVM)
http://www.proxmox.com/products/proxmox-ve.

One only needs to:
- create a virtual machine using Proxmox GUI,
- delete the file created in the VM folder (for example, if new VM number is 100, then the folder is /var/lib/vz/images/100)
- convert original vmdk file to raw format using Proxmox utility
(for example, qemu-img convert -f vmdk djigzo.vmdk -O raw /var/lib/vz/images /100/vm-100-disk-1 .raw)
- start VM as usual.
In our tests it runs with no problems.

At least others are interested too:

The question is if you need tight integration or only want to use
Djigzo as encryption gateway on the same machine.
