<pre> Hi,

just found a small typo in Easypush -&gt; Server Control -&gt; Max Upload Size

The current text is:
&gt;&gt; Max. Attechment Size

while it should be
&gt;&gt; Max. Attachment Size

I'm splitting my feedback into several mails as i guess that’s better
for reprocessing the single notes - hope that's ok.

<pre> Hi,

its great to see human-readable date/time strings in the logs now -
thumbs up.

Some small glitches i noticed in that context.

a) Spam Control Log &amp; NSCD Service Log
Looks in my case like that:
&gt;&gt; 2010-10-07 11:42:56.387595500 Oct 7 11:42:56.387 [2681] info:
prefork: child states: II
Somehow i do have time &amp; date twice in this specific log. Is that
related with that specific log or just an error?

b) Log file selection dropdown
If i do select &amp; open the 'log file' dropdown in easypush to select a
single log everything is fine.
But if i do use arrow-keys to jump to next log (dropdown is still
activated) the dropdown auto-updates - while the log window itself still
displays the last log. So overall i could end up in having a dropbox
showning log_b_name while the log_window is still showing the content of
_log_a.

No important issue - but i guess reporting it is fine anyways.

<pre> Hi,

while i do not know what the service "Deepofix FirstRun Service" is
supposed to do - i still noticed that it was listed as crashed on first
boot after installation (testenv is VMware Fusion)

After a second reboot the service was listed as down/not running.

As a sidenote:
The earlier mentioned blue-box error happens for all Restart &amp; Stop
buttons inside the Easypush Service Status page as well.

<pre> Hi,

while i do continue testing there is one major UI error in Easypush i
can already report.
I'm calling it blue box error (while its just missing text) - see
attached image

This empty blue box appears on several fields in easypush - i havent
tested each single one - but after 5 minutes i can list at least the
following:

01: Accounts - Manage Acconts - Add User: blue box error
02: Modifiying User:
Date of joining help is empy - blue box error
Personal email adress - blue box error
03: Manage Scheduler - Save Settings button - blue box error
04: Add group - blue box error for all items on that page

I am pretty sure this list can be heavily enlarged - while i dont think
it makes sense to check each individual field just to have a complete
list. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Easypush uses &lt; at &gt;(#) $OpenLDAP: slapd 2.4.23 (Jul 10 2010 06:46:22).

So should I change debug value to 1.

<pre>
This is correct. Setting the debuglevel to 1 makes slapd consume too
much CPU. We should only enable debugging when we need it. Enabling
debugging all the time just generates tonnes of logs, consumes cpu
resources and basically does not add value.

Once we upgrade to openldap 2.4 from Debian the logging will sort out a
bit since the new slapd puts in more readable and usable logs.

<pre>
Ahem! This is not a tcpdump bug or problem at all. The problem is in the
way you use it.

When you type 'tcpdump' without any arguments, it will try to use the
first interface. In deepOfix, because of the way network drivers are
compiled and inserted into the kernel, bond0 is the first interface. So
tcpdump tries to listen in on bond0. Which it can't - because the
interface is not up among other reasons.

You should always provide 'tcpdump' with an interface using the '-i'
flag. Such as:

  tcpdump -i eth0 -n

Then it will work. Without complaints.

-abhas.

as i am already testing the latest build i was wondering if it wouldn’t
make sense to allow a default-webmail-language definition per domain in

i.e. i have installed Deepofix - select Germany as default country. At
that point we could assume already that our webmail users might prefer
german instead of english in webmail/squirrelmail.

As always - it's just an idea/feature request ;)

I guess that should be 'AttAchment' - not 'AttEchment'

<pre>Hi,

as Stefano already did a first test-run with this RC4 - i started
another one today on Mac OS X &amp; with VMware Fusion.

Some points i noticed in addition to stefanos great report:

a) Installer
How about offering an option to define a DNS Server while setting up the
time etc (for sure optional &amp; could be for sure be done in EasyPush too)

b) Installer
I had a virtual 8 GB HD - which just worked without the
size-problem-messages stefano mentioned

c) Installer
Hostname is checked too late &amp; can prevent an installation without
warning while hostname-definition.

d) Booting
Grub lists (Version 3.4rc) while (Version 3.4rc4) would be the correct
version-string right?

e) Sources
I realized 2 apt-sources in /etc/apt/sources.list after the basic install.
Install-CD &amp; the doublethink source.
From my point of view it could make sense to add default debian sources
as well - maybe just outcommented.

f) EasyPush
I did a simple apt-get update &amp;&amp; apt-get upgrade which resulted in the
following output
