does cone have a key to go to the next unread message in the Folder Index? I
know I can do this by selecting all unread messages via a search and then
going through them with right arrow, but I would like to be able to go
through my unread messages while being able to make an unrelated selection of
emails.

Thanks,

No, it's probably your mail server's configuration.

The From: header gets set explicitly by editing the From: header after
pressing CTRL-F in message composition.

The setting on the config page specifies a list of email addresses that Cone
will recognize as belonging to you, which is factored in when composing
replies. It does /not/ control what goes into your From: header.

Sorry about that.

Something else I've noticed, the problem is with 89-1 on Ubuntu but I
use cone 90 on NetbBSD and it functions correctly. I don't see anything
apparent in the changelog that would cause that. I wonder if there's a
dependent library that is the cause?

The mail server does not check your name, but your email address. Check the
email address in the From: header. Also, when the message gets submitted to
sendmail, sendmail maybe rewriting the sender envelope address as well.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

In settings I've setup my correct email address. It's the only email
address there.

When I create a new message and hit ^F the FROM header is not that email
address but rather my name, two commas, and my machine name.

If I fix the FROM header it's apparently still sending it incorrectly
because my smtp server is rejecting it (550 relay).

Ideas?

Thanks,

Joey

If you want to remove a large block of text, you can also mark its start

Threaded sorting is actually defined by the IMAP THREAD extension, which
specifies the sorting order that you see, and Cone uses either the IMAP
THREAD command, if supported by the IMAP server, or it sorts the messages
itself, using the same algorithm.

If Cone were to thread messages in a different order, it means that it
wouldn't be able to have the IMAP server sort the messages on its behalf,
which would make thread sorting much slower.

Hello everybody,

thanks to all of you who took the time thinking about my problem and proposing
a solution.

After getting access to my account I couldn't send any messages. After reading
the documentation carefully I managed to mend some mistakes in my SMTP
configuration and now things seem to be allright.

It seems to me, cone isn't for people in awful a hurry, is it? :-) I really
value programs econimizing on resources even though it takes some time to get
the necessary knowledge - thanks to the developers.

Regards,
Charlotte

Despite having written an eloquent editorial, you have exhibited an
astonishing lack of understanding of the subject matter at hand.

An SSL certificate mismatch, with a server's hostname, has no logical
relation to anything that might be called a "terminal address".

Before offering advice on these kind of topics, it's always a good idea to
actually have some fundamental understanding of how things like SSL
certificate validation works.

<description>&lt;pre&gt;I think i had the same problem when i used it. Can you send an email? I suggest
using a yahoo/gmail "test account" and seeing if you can send ok. What was
happening for me was that cone was using the terminal 'address' james&amp;lt; at &amp;gt;jf - i
never did get a resolution and switched to alpine (which cone was intended to
replace) and haven't looked back.

You can try adding /novalidate-cert at the end of the server name in your
config, that might work.

Good luck,
