<pre>By process of elimination, I believe it's the patch associated with:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2810015

that caused the change. For now, we've backed out this patch and things
seem to be working. During our Thursday morning maintenance window I'll
try restarting CGP with the modified startup parameters, re-apply the
patch, and see if it fail/works.

We'll address that in CGPro 6.0.6, for now the workaround is to add

doing headers by default.

I have copied a config file from /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf to
/var/CommuniGate/Settings/SpamAssassin/local.cf with options similar to the
below, and lo and behold, I now have S/A working with CGate again.

[on macosx, also found sa-update {without forcing no GPG} was not working
due to no GPG so downloaded from https://gpgtools.org/ - no need to set it
up, just install]

I am very pleased since I was getting very tired of all the money offers I
was receiving! Thanks again!

This may sound like a silly question, but are your SpamAssassin settings
configured to actually add the headers? In headers-only mode CGPSA does it
for you (I'd be curious about how/why it "was not working"), but in
full-featured mode SpamAssassin does all that work, and by default current
versions of SpamAssassin are, I believe, not configured to add rating
headers. Did it end up with the CGPSA loop prevention header at least?

Good question. I guess this will be left as an exercise to the

removed from the message immediately.

<pre>These seem like good additions to the helper protocol.

Just for clarification, how would the REMOVEHEADER work?

The ADDHEADER command results in headers being added. Those headers are
then available to subsequent helpers via the HEADERS command. Would the
removed headers be removed from the queued message immediately or would
they be available via the HEADERS command as well?

<pre>
Here's a feature request that has been informally asked a few times a
long time ago since the introduction of the ADDHEADER answer and rule
action.

The External Helper protocol should be enhanced for the helpers to be
able to know the headers added by previous rules.

The protocol could be enhanced this way:

  * The protocol version become 4 instead of 3.
  * The server would not send additional information if the helper
    answer INTF 3
  * The FILE command would be enhanced. If there's additional headers
available in memory, CGP would send:
      o */1/ FILE "/filename.msg/" HEADERS*
  * If there's no headers, CGP would send the FILE command as in version 3
      o */1 /FILE /"filename.msg"/*
  * If the helper sees the tag "HEADERS" and want to know the additional
    headers, it would answer with
      o */1/ HEADERS*
  * CGP would then give a single reply containing all the additional
    headers:
      o */1/ HEADERS "/X-AdditionalHeader: value\eX-AdditionalHeader2:
        /**/value\e[...]/"</pre>

<pre>Outlook13 with ActiveSync account to CGP 6.0.5

Used infrequently

Yesterday when I fired it up, I got a pop-up saying "Your account could
not be configured to synchronize new items as they arrive. Contact your
system administrator".

Cranked up httpu/airsync logging to "all info", but nothing jumps out at
me in the resultant CGP logs that would explaint this.

<pre>Just to add to this:

If installing/upgrading using remote administration, you have to be
connected to the console (win2003). More on

Upgrading CGP on Win2012 x64

<pre>Is anyone running the 64bit of CGP on Windows 2012 (64bit)?

I've just upgraded to 5.4.10. A bit slow but I did lose my mail server a
few months ago making me move from Win2k3 to Win2012. This was the first
time I had upgraded CGP on 2012. It didn't go as smoothly as I planned.
Normally, I would select the upgrade button and it would ask you if it
should stop the service. This time it didn't. It just kept failing. So I
manually stopped the service (then closed the services window) and the
upgrade ran as planned. I don't know if this is a new thing with CGP
(even the the README.txt file is still the same) or whether it is due to
being 2012.

Other than that the upgrade went fine.

BTW I have no desire to move to 6.0.x until all of the problems (AirSync
and helpers crashing) have been fixed. I just thought I'd write that
before anyone suggest it :-)

It conflicts with the LDAP server from MacOSX. Either disable LDAP in
MacOS or assign CommuniGate's LDAP ports to other numbers.

Please upgrade to 5.2.20

Did you restart it 4 times intentionally?
