Sure. This is what I meant with "my final summary in the review bug report"

That could be done but I usually leave this aside because not every
maintainer wants to do things the same way..:-)

As, anyway, all other reports are closed by the upload, there is
indeed no real problem in having the translations files in two places.

Properly closing the individual translation bug reports can of course
be a hassle for maintainers, which is why I include a changelog
excerpt in the final summary, too.

I wouldn't do that for all packages where I'm doing a review (because
having all translation bug reports is kind of a red flag in my l10n
survey scripts....showing that the said package has abunch of pending
updates for several loanguages) but I
usually adapt myself to whatever the maintainer thinks.

To summarize all this, I'm not hardly insisting on NMUing the package
(because I really fear doing something you wouldn't agree with...). My
main concern is h&lt;/pre&gt;</description>

Calls for translations will be sent as soon as the review is complete.

This has been fixed on i18n.debian.org as of yesterday and the l10n

And, of course, here comes the bad news:
- mysql-5.5 has two fuzzies because of trivial templates changes
- icinga has 3 new strings from a new template (that needs review)
- ledgersmb introduced some debconf templates without call for
translations. They need a review.

So, 100% moves again a little bit further, thanks to the tireless
efforts of our fellow package maintainers..:-)

content-free bug report which I closed and which has now been
archived.

Thinking about this: you appear to be saying that the updated
translations from #661479, #661718, etc. etc., are all in your tarball
in #660965. In which case we should (a) put a note in the bottom of
the other reports (b) merge or close them all ?

Given the workflow here I think it would make more sense to close the
per-language reports. That would probably avoid the possibility that
an updated translation would be attached to one of these reports but
dropped in favour of the one in your tarball.

Ian.

Right.

I don't intend to make any semantic changes to the English text that
would require retranslation. So this will not be necessary.

I'm sorry to be awkward and I intend to avoid the need for translators

Sigh. I thought we had converged about the English texts, at least for
the debconf templates. So, I based the call for translations on the
texts of templates which is the final one in the review bug report.

So, if *for debconf templates*, you take only some changes, I suggest
to:

- update the *.templates file as you would like them to be
- pick the PO files *as they are* in my final summary in the review
bug report
- run debconf-updatepo. That will resync translations with English
texts
- check what changed in the translations. If some English texts
changed from the texts they were based on, you should see "fuzzy" or
"untranslated string".
  cd debian/po
  for i in *po; do msgfmt -o /dev/null --statistics $i ; done

If translations are not complete, then another translation update
round is needed. Here, podebconf-update-po(1) is your friend (or /me
even if I'll feel like I'm doing the job twice).

Emne: Moving the target of localization pokes (and eventually NMUs)...

With the final steps of the release of Wheezy approaching, I will, from
now on, move the focus of my l10n attention to packages that are blocking
some of the localization goals.

One of them is 100% completeness for debconf translations in wheezy
for seven languages: Czech, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese, German,
Russian and French.

As a consequence, I will now be nagging *hardly* the maintainers of
packages that are blocking this 100%  completeness. These packages are
listed on the following pages:

I'm sorry, I assumed that to be the "usual" workflow.

Let me mumble (back) a bit ;-)

I suppose the reason I assumed to upload before considering translations
was that it de-couples the two processes a bit. Imho this would be a
nice feature in a volunteer-driven project as it removes delay. Also, we
will be back to 100% within a few days -- I suppose at about the same
time as the upload would have happened else.

This is just my two cents. If you prefer it the other way around, I can
perfectly live with that as debconf changes will probably happen rarely
in my case after all ;-)

Sorry for that … that just happened to be a bad coincidence in your and
my workflows.

Thanks for taking care of that. I just noticed that podebconf-report-po
--mutt just left the E-mails in my Drafts folder *whistle*

Cheers,
Sebastian

For most, if not all, of them, there are pending translations in the

    <title>console-data dropped from D-I i18n "level 2"</title>

<description>&lt;pre&gt;As we switched to console-setup for the console keyboard settings, I
just dropped the inclusion of console-data localization statistics
from Debian Installer localization statistics.

That will remove a small burden from the shoulders of translators who
want to achieve 100% completeness for all D-I levels.

It does of course not mean that translations for console-data are
abandoned...but they're likely to be less and less used. And the
package will sooner or later be orphaned (probably after wheezy).
